Is it possible to be that dumb? And personally, I'm an American but I think our foreign policy is absolutely laughable. We are the bullies, why can't you realize that? We play world police and that is why the world hates us. And its people like you that keep the stigma of the American military going. You are just as much a "bad guy" to them as they are to you. We invaded their country, ripped it to shreds, killed FAR MORE innocent people than they ever did during 9/11, and now we are slowly leaving, most likely with the country far worse off than when we invaded. If only people could be a little more educated before hopping on the military bandwagon...

Yeah man we did just go into there country and open fire, and kill real civilians also with some of these terrorists. At some point in time we will advance and realize that war is detrimental to humans as a whole. But I am shocked and have to give you points for knowing Al Queda isn't the same thing (but the taliban for the most part do support them)

Just playing devil's advocate here, but I think it's unfair to use a school shooting as any sort of comparison. Singular insane persons murdering is not anything even close to an organized militant group ruthlessly governing an entire country with terror and death (as the Taliban did for example).

The comparison I think he was making was with a suicide attacker, not the group they affiliate with, so it's very similar. It comes back to this whole apocalyptic ideology found quite generally throughout Islam, and how it convinces these suicide-murderers that killing innocent lives and themselves is not only OK, but will actually reward them with paradise in their next life. They're just in a state of constant, vile religious rapture, all the time, so it really is for and about themselves.

I'll say it again, fucking shit up is relatively quick and easy for the US military. When it comes to finding, fixing, and destroying an enemy, we're the fucking best in the world. We could topple most countries in a few months, to include the developed and developing ones. Yes, I'm including China in that. Its the whole hold, control, and build part that is hard. People underestimated how long it would take to rebuild Iraq and Afghanistan, not by years but by Decades. Look at the history of US involvement in other countries over the 20th Century.

Cuba - didn't stay, look what happened.

Philippines - stayed until Japan kicked us out in WWII, and then went back for a few years - somewhat stable

Germany I - left, had to go back 25 years later and fuck them up again.

Germany II - Still fucking there, larger presence through the cold war - stable US friendly democratic nation.

Japan - Still the largest military presence on the islands - stable, US friendly democratic nation

S. Korea - still fucking there - stable relatively pro US dem nation.

Vietnam - pulled out following 'victory,' - pro US government toppled a few years latter

Iraq I - did not topple government, Sadam kept it stable until we kicked his ass again.

Iraq II - about to be the same shit as Vietnam.
