more skiers, worse sport

so this year i've seen a billion times more skiers in the park, however, they all are nothing but shitty ass posers who are too scared to try any tricks or anything. they all come out cause they think it makes them cool to be in baggy ski clothes and they ALL have armada's or 4 frnts. is this true in other places this year too, or just in tahoe

hi, my name is bill fleming. I enjoy long walks on the beach, candle light dinners, romantic bedside novels, and the works of Kenny G

i say the more money being thrown into the industry the better. so what if they suck. they get better eventually. i bet u sucked ass and was scared to try new tricks when u baought your fisrt pair of twinws

dont get it twisted

everybody was a little kid hitting straight up jumps ot flat, looking up to the kid who could do 3s at one tiem or another. eventually they will get better(hopefully),and the ones who dont will be ridiculed by thier friends for not knowing how to slide a flat box

when i was 2 my parents put me on a pair of sticks.....i have been running wild ever since.

It's not too bad in CO. But more jib skier wanna-be's 4 sure. I've even heard boarders who want to switch to skiing now. Oh well, can't fight the progression/evolution of the sport. My question is what the hell took so long for freeskiing to get popular. I was doin' grabs & 180's when snowboarding took off.

boost

^ I think there are loads of kids like that in Colorado. I must have seen the same twenty or thirty kids in Snowmass and Buttermilk just cluttering up the park and doing nothing but causing problems and picking fights.

yeah i liked it back in the day when you were one of not many who had twins. today its mad crowded and alot of skiers are asses.

yeah, you can tell who really needs twins by just watching people. if they cant even land a jump, probably not.

i dunno if it would be poser...we're all getting better here.

Jeepers Creepers, where'd you get the neat sneakers?!?!

hehehe giggle giggle giggle

HAHA yea it sux but the same thing happened in snowboarding all u can really do is chill do ur thing and be glad u look so much better now!!

well if you're learning how to ski well, and would like to sometime go in park, why not go buy twins? they're not going to be racers, so why should they go buy race skis?

yeah. There where many posers on snowboarding before, but now that skiing is beginning to be big, the posers go over to skiing. Last season i saw like max 10 people on twintips in one day, now i see almost more people on twintips then people on snowboards. It sucks to be big

horray for skiing!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hoyl shit,

even tho its december i have never seen so many ppl in the fucking park, kids that i never saw once last year, and kids tat suck too much to even hit a flat box even when they are decked out with ALL the gear... having Fugatives and being a newbie suck seems like the new coolest thing. I was just seing how i hate it when there is so many skiers, this sucks, i want them all to die

Yeah, it would be great if we could keep our little secret. But it is fun, and if people want to learn - so be it. It only pushes the sport into further progression, more rider companies, and more choices for us as riders. But what sucks, like in my earlier post, are little kids causing problems or doing nothing but taking up space in the park. If they want to learn, fine. We all had to start. But many kids are not. They just want to ride around and act hard. They are doing it because it is trendy right now versus actually loving to ski. That is what sucks.

you cant say that kids that can barly do a 3 and have 4frnt arnt posers, if i was only gonna go in the park 1 run outa the day id deffantly get some carving skis

everyone sucked at one time or another and there is always going to be newcomers, so why not embrace all those who love our sport and lend them a hand by offering some advice on how to better their skills as opposed to ridiculing them for sucking just as you once did?

it pisses me off when people are in sking for the wrong reasons. u ski because u love it not because u think its cool

haha at our mt most people suck in the park, n we have a freestyle club that gets in the way, n all of the old poepel who ski through the park with their kids, oh n all the shitty ass snowboarders who clog the top of rails so yeh are parks are crowed with ppl who suck but don't try n get better they just think they look cool

sooner or later they will die out and realize they dont like skiing and then it will be better

As long as the kids can ski before they go in the park, I'm chill with it. Hell everyone needs to start somewhere. But if you can't even carve, then you shouldnt be hitting jumps.

im just saying the tiny rippers piss me off. they bomb the hill doing a pizza . They get to the lip barely then stop and ride down the side. and when kid go down the hill behind you and are like im right behind you im like fuck you asshole and don't go off the jump because i wanna be pissed in thier face and see them fall. its just fucking queer.

in reply to the origional post....:

so what? so what if they are....does that really matter too much. they are supporting the eindustry which helps us all. yeah sure they get in the way and all blah blah blah but look at it like this; now there are more ppl that will look up to you because you rip so hard *cough*

We need to market agaisnt the sport like wear shirts that say skiing is for fat kids and hang snowboarding posters everywhere

yea, where do these kids come from, its pretty funny how intimated they get when you are sessioning something and they dont want to hit it until you leave, poor kids

basically every single skier i have seen with twin tips is good, maybe not at the park, but they have all had some decent skillz elsewhere on the mountain

lol not here in calgary or at least what ive seen theres about 5 people that i see with twin tips a day so many ass hole snowboarders that snake u and then go off the side of the rail or jump

Life is a waste of time, time is a waste of life so get wasted all the time and have the time of ur life!!!

i hear what ur sayin

but some people buy armadas as there first twin and learn, and get baggy clothes cuz if they post a video on here, 10 people will say 'good, now get baggy pants'

...

If you're talking about skiing at alpine meadows then i would have to completely agree with you lots of skiier fags this season

well i dont think that if you are learning park you should get twins, maybe your 2nd year but not the first. i was skiing on my kiddie xsceems learning park for 2 years before i got my pe's last year.

**CCR**

Who cares about all of those kids who buy the nice equipment. Just think of it this way, if there weren't all of those posers, how would the company's make money?

WTF u talking about dude? At one point all this newschool stuff was new and you were the poser newb.

You rag on people who came after you without considering all those that came before you.

just because someone buys twins before they can rip in the park doesnt mean that they are posers... its always possible that they needed new skis and also wanted to get into park at the same time so they decided to buy twins. whether they went out and actually progressed at all is another story.

.katie.

Mountain Creek in NJ has come up with a park pass too keep people who arent ready for the big stuff out...its gonna be sexxxxxxxy

i actually find tremblant, qc to be pretty good. although there are a lot of skier kids, most people there have some respect, or a general idea for it. i don't care if they aren't getting in the way, and if they are trying, even better for them. i know sometimes i still have to sit there for a bit trying to get my head together for some tricks that i find hard, so if they find the slidin the rail normal hard, i won't judge them for sitting there trying ot work up to it. as for the gear, yeah i have the worst gear possible, and i see the kids with the best stuff doin nothing, but i can't judge them on that. i do get jealous, though. their parents worked hard to make the money in one way or another so if they wanna spend it on gettin the new cool things, it's all good. think about how little kids always want to coolest new toys. i always wanted the new cool lego and ninja turtle gear. now kids like skiing. so their parents buy them skiing. i wouldn't buy my kids 4 year old racing skis and skin tight 1 pieces just coz they're learning. give them a little steeze so they have something to work from.

MAN FUCK YOU ALL WE DONT EVEN GOT A PARK FOR THE STUPID ASS POSERS WITH BAGGY SNOWPANTS AND TWINTIPS TO MAKE FUN OF THEM AT. SO ALL YOU PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO THINK YOU HAVE A SHITTY PARK BECAUSE SOME FAG ASS SNOWBOARDERS WERE TALKING SHIT AT THE TOP OF YOUR FAVORITE RAIL THIS WEEKEND. THINK AGAIN AT LEAST YOU HAVE A PARK,

ONE DAY IM MOVING TO A PLACE CALLED CANADA

What you need to consider is how much you are progressing, not everyone else or the industry. Everything with the 'newschool' of skiing would progress a lot more quickly if we were all to support each other and stop worrying about putting others down for being posers or 'only being able to do a 3.'

Straight up, some of those kids you're hatin on are going to be throwin down way harder than you soon. They will because they are out there trying new shit, working their asses off to improve while you sit at your computer upping your post count and calling out all the 'posers.'

Before this season I had never slid even a fun box successfully and had never spun more than a 180. I have gotten 23 days in this season, been called a poser by a bunch of cocksuckers like you who were riding at Big Bear, and now I can 270 off of all the rails at my mountain and I'm spinning 540 mutes off of the 50 ft. tables in my park. Does improvement like that make me a 'poser with baggy clothes and new twintips' ?

Try helping each other out, show those posers how you do some shit on those new twins instead of mimicking the snowboard community and talking shit about and to eachother. That would be progression.

(sorry that was long winded)

I've been skiing switch since the mid 1990s. When I saw a pari of the original 1080s, I was amazed! Someone actually made a ski with a turned-up tail! I boguht my first pair of twins in 2000, yup, 5 seasons ago. I have seen the evolution of the sport thus far and it stokes me to see other people out there trying newschool. So what if they can't rip today, tomorrow, that little grom that just crashed in front of you on the jump will be hucking switch cork 9s because he'll get all the benefits and training available to him through the expansion of the sport (camps, coaching, awesome parks to ride in, etc...). The more money, the more possibilities. The possibilities, the more people will go off, and that is good for skiing, period.

'I have a dream! That one day all men will ski on tiwns and the world will covered in powder and there will be first tracks for all men, regardless of race, color, or creed! I have a dream!'

Your definitely right about Tahoe with that accusation. There are a buncha posers this year. I saw a kid decked out in camo M6 shit with some of last years Armada's and he absolutely sucked.

I felt sort of like a pussy my first trip up though. I didn't have my chronics yet, so I wasn't going to do any rails yet on my reapers. And all I was doing was the 3 table set at Alpine. The tables were small so you could only toss anything up like 3 and stuff..but I still felt gay for not doing rails.

------------------

that is quite jibtastic, sir.

'skiboards look horrible on rails, they do however looking amazing over 15 foot tables.'
