No though. Once upon a time, Supreme was one of the preeminent skate brands. Core af etc etc etc. And now they're doing whatever the fuck fashun but at least it's coveted shit of mostly OK quality most of the time. And resell prices reflect that, whatever else you think of the brand. It's luxury.

Montec is the opposite. There's no luxury, no clout, in or out of the industry, no perception of quality or exclusivity. Montec is the Zara of skiing. Cheap, accessible, disposable.

Many who are not really into the sport have to choose between super expensive technical stuff for everest missions, some rossignol jacket with fur on the neck that your mom would wear, and baggy stuff that doesn't really cater to them because it's not 2005 anymore.

Montec gives them modern style for cheap and that's all they need .

I don't really trust their 20k waterproof claim and would rather support some more involved brands, but when my friend that skis maybe 3 weekends a year asked me why she shouldn't get montec I was hard pressed to find an answer

I don’t think montec and dope are hideous, but I’ll never support a corporate company that bought its way into the sport and sells to the least informed members of our community while taking money away from companies that actually support the sport.

Fuck montec and dope, all dope sponsors is jesper and I bet it’s because the marketing team saw some of his redbull shit on youtube.

Maybe if the company pumped money into the sport instead of instagram ads I’d respect them. Their whole marketing scheme is to look like a core company to beginners that don’t know better.

Armada makes quality shit and is a company deeply rooted in freeskiing. They charge a lot for their 3 layer gortex jacket because it's cream of the crop. They make really sick $200 jackets too. You can't compare them to Montec or Dope. They have proven their worth, durability and loyalty to skiing.

Idk bro Armada's outerwear quality is pretty questionable imo. I had the 3L goretex jacket from a couple years back and it fell apart way too quick. The goretex material was real nice but the zippers broke way quick and the powder skirt ripped out in like 30 days. Cuz the powder skirt was glued in instead of actually sewn in. Pretty shit for a $450 jacket. I got a decent warranty refund for the jacket but still took forever and they refused to fix it when it really wouldn't have been an easy fix. I love armada's skis but don't trust the outerwear. I'm gonna stick with my dad's old TNF jacket that has hundreds of days on it and is in better shape than that armada jacket after 30 days

That's interesting. I've never had the 3l jacket, but I have 2 other jackets and have had 4 pairs of snowpants over the years. Always enjoyed them and have had good luck with durability!
