Midwest skiers > Outwest Skiers

nah sorry thread creator..i moved out west from ohio and they're definitely better skiers than the midwest skiers..they go bigger, faster, charge harder..i was a park rat until i moved out here and it's made me a much better skier..kids in the midwest may be able to slay rails and ski on ice but that does not justify them as being the best breed

Try riding this. At least you have more than a 10 second ride down... We have one measly slope.

I would gladly ride PNS or Hyland or whatever. They look pretty awesome. (minus the tow ropes)

Pretty much every place brings a few good skiers in different areas... Midwest and east do park west we do pow but no matter where you go you can't avoid gapers

Right, and I'm a motocrosser than James Stuart because I deal with only getting out once or twice a year on a 1990's honda xr200 on a crappy track and he rides on a perfectly manacured and designed track in his backyard on a newer than new decked out bike.

Your argument = invalid.

I made the move from Calif. to Ohio some years ago. Here is my take. The top really good skiers who grow up in the Midwest fit right in out West with all the other awesome skiers. They are really fucking good.

Very few parks in the east like Sugarbush, killington and mt snow have good parks and even so sugarbush has shit rails. Central New York for the win!

I disagree. Its not the fact that you have shitty parks, its that the only thing to do is to spend all of your time in them. I ski out west at a shitty park, but I'm not that good, because i spend a damn lot of time out skiing pow. If i spent every second i was at the mountain lapping the park, i would be a lot better.

Everyone go watch TC episode 4.5 flat as a pancake that is the best of the best as far as midwest goes so there boom minnesota skiing for life!!!!!!

Park aspect is what most eastern skiers dominate at. West is all around mountain shredding. East coast/Midwest make the skiers, we just make them better.

it's been said but Welch Village, MN is so bad it makes buck look epic. our rails fall over, they're so rusty you can see the tetanus (i'm joking.) and essentially everyone hates park skiers, even though we are actually not that bad to anyone. please nobody ever go here, it's expensive, the park sucks and so does everything else. you want a good midwest park? Granite Peak or Giant's ridge. and spirit. and occasionally lutsen but nobody goes there

Lutsen is fun for preseason and really late season, they are always the last/first open. Lutsen is a pretty big mountain actually.

the thing that I've always noticed is that our season is 4, maybe 5 months, of solid riding, if we had the long seasons that start is Oct. and go until June, is how much more we could progress with those extra months every year

Everyone has local pride, but to make ignorant comments like that is idiotic. Enjoy your mole hills, rusty rails andyou're XXL jackets

Naa, quality of jump and rails should not make a lot difference, if you get good at your rusty rails back home, and then go to another resort witch have better rails, you really should have an advantage instead, also you should be better hitting urban, haha!

also jumps, good quality jumps would maybe save you from injuries, but they wont get you much better.. it's the size of the whole park that matters, and their lines!

If your shitty home park had a jump-line of 15 jumps in a row, you would have gotten more practice, witch means you would have gotten better!

people that live nearby big ski resorts, with big parks get thousands of more jumps and rails done in a season than people who live nearby smaller parks - they spend most of their day in the lift...

Sorry for dub post, but last post was meant if the seasons where same length, as here in Norway, where the best skiers mostly hang around the biggest parks..

Dont forget about all the ski patrol assholes that love ripping your tickets if you go anywhere near inverted.... we gotta dodge those chromies too... love the midwest but everything in this statement is true and hilarious! haha MidWest REPRESENT !!!!!

The only reason I like skiing in the Midwest is it makes me appreciate it way more when I ski out west, but welch village sucks so fucking much that anywhere else I go seems great
