The back story.
Daniel Dumile (Do-me-lay) was born in London on January 9th 1971. His mother was from Trinidad, his father was from Zimbabwe. He moved from London to Long Beach, Long Island, NY.
He started the rap group KMD in 1988 with his brother DJ Subroc and a rapper named Onyx the Birthstone Kid. KMD gained some buzz and was signed to Elektra Records. In 1991, they released an album called "Mr. Hood" and got heavy play on many hip hop TV programs.
