MF DOOM Appreciation Thread.

Hear ye, hear ye! How dare ye

Go up against the king who do his thing tri-yearly?

They're too carefree with their mouths around here

Off with his head, and display it at Town Square

On top a seven-feet spike, make sure it's on tight

In light of when the peasants throw stones with all their might

Skull get smashed for weeks

'Til vulture beaks eats the last meat off your cheeks

Maybe then they'll know the right words to speak

Out loud, at home, in the world, or in the streets

It's no escape, just in case

All the kings' mens and 'em decides to go apes

I was, then I was disappointed so I posted what would surely anger some people. I should probably keep arguing that MF Doom sucks or something like that.

Bump for great news.

DoomStarks is the collaboration between reclusive rapper (MF) DOOM and Wu-Tang legened Ghostface Killah. Rumours of their collaboration have been floating around the blogosphere for years, and the closest we’ve gotten to the reality is Ghostface’s guest spot on DOOM’s last albumBorn Like This.

Well, since last week, DoomStarks’ label Nature Sounds has been dropping hints through their twitter that we would be hearing something from the project very soon, and yesterday they mailed out a cassette featuring the track “Victory Laps” in a Madvillainz-remixed version to some lucky people who chanced upon buying a mystery “DOOM x Akomplice box.”

One generous recipient has now posted a video of the opening of the mystery box, playing of the cassette and revelation of all the other DOOM-related merch inside. Although this version is a remix it sounds as good as anything we could have hoped for. Nature Sounds has also told us that the un-remixed version will be available on iTunes from July 26th, and there will be a 12″ picture disc released on August 30th, which you can pre-order now.

Dope.

To be honest i don't like Ghostface that much, but any new DOOM is always nice.

I remember hearing something about DOOM doing a collab project with Thom Yorke. Any merit to this?

Thom Yorke made an official Gazzillion Ear remix and DOOM was asked about it in an interview and said "We'll probably end up making an album together" and you know how he is with not doing things. He supposedly has a second Madvillainy on the way, an album from '08 called DOOMPOSTOR, a second Mouse and the Mask etc. Even the DOOMSTARKS album is delayed like 2-3 years. So it might happen it might not.

I fucking love MF DOOM. I just discovered him about 3 weeks ago and Madvillainy/Operation: Doomsday have been on replay 24/7.

"Only in America..."

^finish that line

Seriously guys? Let's keep the conversation going.

Album: Madvillainy

Song: As of now probably Curls but all time there are two many I consider to be equal.

Madvillainy

Curls

One of his best: "Don't mind me / I wrote this line lightly / Off'a two or three Heines / And boy was they fine gee / One black, one spanish, one chine', It keeps the woody shiny / Year round like a pine tree"

Because it's that time of year:

Threads so I can get more DOOM music to bump while skiing. Always loved his flow, so irregular yet so sick.
