MCL tear

well tore my MCL at big boulder doing a mute 3 i took it a little deep and my knee caved in now looking for things to do to pass the time, has anyone else here done this, any tips for faster recovery, or to pass the time

Sorry to hear that bud, can't say i torn my MCL before but i'd expect it to be around 6 weeks, hope you're back to shredding asap and i know how frustrating it can be to be off the snow for so long, did my tib fib at start of the season before last, was out for whole season, had to listen to how good the snow was all winter, Vibes bro +

ya i snapped my leg last year in half right before the season started then at the end i exploeded my elbow. I feel for you man, play lots of shedsauce and masterbate it will pass the time

Sorry to hear!

I blew my ACL and tore my MCL the last weekend in January. My surgery is scheduled for March 25. After 4 weeks of PT, I got the all clear to ski cautiously the rest of the year until surgery. Yesterday I got back on the horse and clipped in. I didn't hit any park features other than a few kickers, and had a directional brace on but it still felt great to ski. It hurt like hell twice and had to sit down but I managed.

Take your time and read up on your injury, what foods and excercises help with recovery, as well as finding the right knee doctor. You'll heal if you do it right. The hardest part will be confidence after.

you been to physio at all yet? If not, go in as soon as you can and get it looked at. Whistler medical centre told me I "Sprained my MCL" and to take it easy for a couple days. Went to see a physio a few days later and found out I had torn my MCL, ACL, and a hamstring. The more opinions you can collect, the better

+vibes man

Im currently out with an ACL that i blew in december.

I smoke a lot of weed and play guitar alot to deal with it. it sucks tho

Thank you guys I am booking a visit with a specialist tomorrow, none were open this weekend but I got an X-ray which won't show you ligaments and they said when it pulled off it brought bone with it check my Instagram for the video genemetschulat

I tore my MCL a few years back, was out 3 months. Just don't rush your recovery man. Take PT seriously (I did not, regretfully) and you'll be good. Also, do what I wish I had done and take up a productive, non self-loathing habit, i.e. guitar, writing, photography, etc.

Lol, why the hell didnt you get an MRI in the first place?

Does your local mountain have a disabled program? I teach at the one at my local mountain and learning how to monoski is a great way to stay on the snow. A local kid tore his MCL last season and he learned how to monoski. He caught on quickly and within a few weekends he hit a small flat rail and hitting smaller jumps.

canada man, MRI is a 3-4 month wait, and I'm not dropping $800 to get it done privately

Sounds like an awfully shitty way to go about healthcare. Wait, so how do you know its torn now? Have you had an MRI?

I just saw a surgent and they scheduled an MRI for later this week, the orthopedic surgent saw my X-ray and said it could just be the fracture but they cannot be positive without an MRI so later this week I find out, and I wish we had a mono skiing thing near me that would be crazy

my physio is sure it's torn because my right knee fails the lachman, anterior drawer, and pivot shift tests. left knee is completely stable. she just doesn't know the extent of the tear and that's why I'll need the MRI

Med student here!

If what you said is true, that both Lachman and Anterior Drawer are positive then there is a real good chance that you've got some damage to your ACL aswell. You've got any test scores(1+, 2+,3+) for those tests? If so, the higher the number the worse the damage. Get an MRI to be sure

I tore my ACL/MCL/Meniscus last week. Learned the hard way, trees dont move and legs....well they can break.

I plan on teaching myself keyboard/piano. Rehab hard as f@!k to get your mind off of it! We'll be back next season with robotic knees

Just got the all clear from my doctor to ski this Australian season after full ACL and partial MCL, beyond stoked for the season to come around.

After my acl/meniscus surgery i got myself a ton a books i wanted to read for a long time, learn new songs on guitar, watched almost all the top 100 movies of IMBD haha and you know just tried to remain positive ! Learn to play chess, get some acrylic paint and pimp your room, try to get bitches home delivered..

Tinder. Say you tore your knee up extreme skiing and then casually mention all the narcotics you have on hand. Pills + Netflix + pizza is something everyone can get into.

DO EXACTLY WHAT YOUR DR TELLS YOU. I broke my foot over 9 months ago and have had two surgeries on it now and I just got back on the mountain a couple weeks ago. Don't let yourself get hooked on the meds the docs give you if they do cause they like the idea of going cold turkey and it fucking sucks.

But youriding freeski II and hunting specific older edits online helped pass the time for me.

Hope all goes well with the knee.

EXACTLY THIS ahahah

my dad tore his ACL, MCL and there is no way I will be able to spell it right but I think meniscus? I'm on mobile that's my excuse. But he still went up to Whistler to shred with all that torn. I don't recommend it however.
