Actually "bro". What kind of weapon you are using and the gender of your attacker is irrelevant in determining self defense. That crazy bitch punched him and then jumped the counter and charged him. How was beating her ass down not self defense
 
It very well may have become assault at the very end when she had subbmited but the "bro" kid above tried to act like a guy using a metal pole on a girl was not defensive

I'm pretty sure workers have a right to use weapons once they jump the counter due to the dangerous things someone has at their disposal back there (knives, hot ass grease, etc.) but since they were women and he has a record I'm sure he'll go back to jail.

i think that according to law, it's only self-defense up to the point you have a chance to get away or the attack has stopped. otherwise i think it can become battery. in case you weren't aware, assault is actually just threatening someone. battery is physical attack. normally the two go hand in hand, i.e. assault and battery. this seems like a case where it is just battery.

Was it actually a metal rod that he used? It looks like an extending baton. That would also explain the possession of a weapon charge. And where the hell would he pull a random metal rod from in a mcdonalds?

In any case, the women slapped him and attacked him first, so he does have a decent argument for self defence...right up until he starts beating them relentlessly while they are down.
