No, most of the conservatives in this thread know how to explain their points in a logical manner. They also have the ability to understand what other people are saying and to analyze others opinions correctly.

Does anyone know who karl pilkington is? Totally reminds me of Aspen...anyways, you take whatever people say and completely twist their words and miss their main points and bring up mundane issues that are rather insignificant. Sorry for the harsh words, but I don't think I've ever seen someone miss point after point and spew as much bullshit as you.
 
I try my best. I've already told everyone that I spit better than I can type. I try to understand you all. You know it's really hard to see what you're saying without tones and such. Monotone just doesn't work for me, but it seems to work for the Democratic party for some reason. I never missed points. I got to all the points, and I haven't spewed bullshit. You just have to read everything that I have said as if I were standing right in front of you speaking it. Like I said, I suck at putting my thoughts on paper. Cottonwood: I think it's a piddly little nothing of a scandal and I personally couldn't even care less. Fuck that dude, he should be fired. But a) she shouldn't be abusing the rather limited powers of her office, in principle (makes me wonder if there's even the slightest chance she'd abuse a much more powerful office, which I wouldn't be willing to take). And b) regardless of what ANYONE thinks of the scandal, being deposed as governor shortly before your name is on the ballot for VP is going to cost your ticket a fair number of votes. The media is excellent at making a big story out of nothing and dragging it out for days, and no small number of people are going to be shocked and apalled that the VP candidate was actually stripped of her governorship. If it happens.

but i was wondering if anyone knew who would become AK governor if she does become VP becuase our luit. gov is running for congress? i think? so if he wins and she wins....who the hell will run alaska? will they have another election? will the gov just be appointed? my government teacher didn't know the answer so i was wondering if anyone with some political and government knowledge would know?
 
The youth of this country identify with obama because they have no clue about anything, they just go with the bush hating trend and immediately jump on board with someone who promises "change" from the last administration. Its people like them that will ultimately doom this country by voting for nobama. McCain isn't the best choice either by any means, but he sure as hell is better than Obama. I'd feel alot more comfortable if he had romney as his vp, but it wasn't in the cards. As for Obama, his small business tax plan has the potential to be ruinous to the hardworking small business people of this country, and coming from a family that runs a small business, its easy to see that I don't want obama, although that is just one of the many reasons. I think if you ask a voting aged teen on the streets fresh out of highschool why they want obama they wouldn't be able to come up with anything concrete and logical. I wont even get into the people that obama has been involved with over they years, what with Jeremiah Wright, the avowed america hater, and the various others (capitol building bombers, communists, etc.) It's just plain scary that our country seems to be so willing to elect someone like this guy. And for those of you who comment on republicans on NS, it's usually the liberals who spew the shit their parents do.

Speaking of ignorance, can you explain what exactly about Obama's tax plan will harm your family's small business? Can you point out that part of his tax proposal to me, or are you just taking someone else's word that it's going to have deleterious effects on your financial situation?

Uh yea J.D. Under his plan, the companies overall earnings will be taxed higher and the owning shareholders of that company get their earnings taxed as well because they are the owners. Therefore, because the overall earnings are being taxed higher, there is less money to put back into the business and the owners get less money. To add insult to injury, their earnings are also taxed. Add the fucking bullshit income tax in Massachusetts on top of Obama's income tax plan and they get even less. Even in my case, with him in office, I'll be giving up half of my paycheck every 2 weeks and my parents will make less money from the business they worked their asses off to build.

dyslexia isn't as much a learning disability as it is a reading disability. Sure, not being able to read as proficiently as others may hinder learning, but first and foremost its just a reading thing.
 
How bout Obama being accused by members of his own party that he and the majority leader of the Illinois state senate had them add Obamas name to bills that would look good for him even when he never had anything to do with the bill.

Or accusation that he may or may not have gotten in a fist fight with a member of his own party over a disagreement.

He considered a man his mentor who was a member of a group that send bombs to government buildings and started a riot in a residential nehborhood.

He got a sweet deal on a house with the help from a man who had purchased an ajoining plot of land that man just so happens to have been convicted of bribery.

Biden made the whole you have to have an indian accent to work at a 7-11 or dunkin donuts saying this directly to an indian america cause he didnt think it was inapporpriate at all.

Obama has fucked up too he's not perfect neither is Biden. McCain has done his share of messed up things too and im sure Palin has made mistakes too.

This election shouldn't be about who fucked up more but what the canidates are going to do as president

How much money do you make annually? Because if it's less than $150,000, Obama will actually be cutting your income tax, probably more than McCain would. He has also slated tax cuts favouring companies which employ workers within the USA. Have you read his plan? People making millions per year will see substantial tax hikes, but middle class and upper middle class will actually pay less than they have under Bush and less than under McCain.

When you tax their earnings on top of income tax because they own the business is just fucking ridiculous. Sure im pissed that taxachusetts already takes huge income tax from my paychecks, but thats chump change to what my family stands to lose. Also, his bullshit over a second round of econ stimulus checks is just as stupid. Its like rewarding the lowest income double while passing over the upper people twice, how is that fair? They don't get checks because they made too much money to qualify for it. I would have qualified except that I have stocks that sold and pushed me over the limit. Thats money i cant touch yet, and even though i make shit money in the summer, I get no check. Reward the people who don't excell or haven't had the chance to excell or are just too fuckin lazy to strive for something more while you leave the people who actually have worked hard out.

I can just see the questioners grandstanding and hammering her as hard as they possibly can to garner attention and further their own careers... and the media will eat that shit up. My point is, stuff like this is very bad for the ticket. You do not want drama like that right before an election, even if it's stupid and pointless, because a lot of people who will be voting will actually take it seriously and get all excited about what a big deal they think it is, particularly after Wolf Blitzer tells them so. I think it will receive huge coverage and be harmful.

A deposition is a statement taken by a lawyer usally pretty informal extremly unlikely any one but her and her lawyer and and the person taking the statement would be in the room. I belive that they can do a deposition over the phone too but im not completly sure

It is, however, often recorded, and there is no reason to suggest that someone wouldn't try to videotape it... even if not, I don't know what the rules are like on privacy for this sort of thing, but would there not be disclosure? Someone who knows Alaska state law would know better than I would.
 
It could be taped but I'm guessing that she had another reason besides he wouldnt fire a bad cop to give to the public. I dont think they would have her be running for Veep if she were guilty of something illegal the GOP knows what their doing.
 
Well, I think she was probably in the right in terms of wanting the guy fired (I don't know the details, but generally tasering people for no reason is grounds for termination), although I don't think using her position to lean on someone to make it happen is responsible... and I'm sure they took this whole thing into account before they nominated her, even though JM only met with her the one time, which doesn't seem like much vetting. I just think that when it happens, however it happens, whether the press has direct access or just ends up interviewing some jackass who had something to do with the event a dozen times afterwards because he wants to make a name for himself... again, media circus.
