Holy crap, I can't help but laugh at this thread. Then cry. Dear god.
I'm a big fan of McCain. Big fan. Loved him him 2000 against Bush, love the fact that he's a long time senator and was a Captain in the Navy. However this move was pretty dumb. She was chosen for 2 reason. One, she is a women (being good looking is only a bonus). Two, she is relatively unknown, so it is hard to criticize her on what she has or hasn't done. That's it.
You can't possibly think that Governor of Alaska for 2 years (or just under), plus mayor of a small town can compare to 4 years in the Senate, plus 8 years in the state Senate. I don't think Obama has much experience either, but he does have more than Palin. Also, I have to say that being in the National spotlight for the past 4 years does count for something, because every single one of his decisions has been looked at more closely than anything Palin has done. I don't not like Palin, it's just hard to see what she was really done. Mitt Romney would have been a much, much, much better choice. Generally speaking, I think being Governor (except for states like Wyoming, Alaska, Montana, Rhode Island, etc, just cause they are so damn small) provides better experience than the Senate. Obviously Massachusetts is not one of these.
Speaking of the the Senate though, you americans have got to wake up kick these people in the ass. The house too. What does this congress have, like a 9% approval rating? Less bills passed into law than any other congress ever? Not that President isn't important, but there is more than one man running the show.
