Massholes and Flashing Headlights

lol, it's kind of hard to mistake the pike for I-95 they run perpendicular to one another. i've lived in mass for twenty years, i'm pretty sure I know.
 
if your going the same speed as everyone else, and in the left lane then your a dick and people were most likely telling u to get the fuck back in the right lane. passing lane is for passing, dont be a dick.
and if you were in the right lane then sorry. i just cant fucking stand people that think its ok to just cruise in the left lane spacing out like a dumbass.
 
Your driving standards? Rules are rules. You (not you personally but, massholes in general) are the ones who can't adjust to the REAL standards. They are called laws. Get with the program, just because everyone else is an idiot too doesn't give you an excuse to also act like an idiot, it just makes the problem worse.
 
lol, but you're completely wrong. If everyone goes with the flow of the traffic, the likelihood of an accident is much less than if someone is in the middle lane doing 65 on the pike. I wouldn't consider going with the flow of traffic acting like an idiot? You sound like one of the shitty drivers I see on the pike.
 
dude, we're massholes. i'm one of the rare ones that can actually drive but i wouldnt lose too much sleep wondering why massholes were flashing you. only time id worry about that is if theyre doing you a solid and warning you of a cop coming up

that being said, stay the fuck out of the left lane if youre not booking it (not saying that was the case here, just sayin..)

also, speeding on the pike sort of blows i'd be careful

And chances re I'm the person passing you, not the "idiot" doing 65 in the middle lane. (Which is the speed limit on the northway here in NY...) And the middle lane seems like a good place to go 65 if that's the speed you want to go, the left lane is for passing, not both lanes.

I was saying that by expecting other people to conform to a ridiculous set of standards that you dont know unless you've been driving there your whole life is stupid, especially when the speed limit sign and all the other laws say otherwise.

Before you jump to conclusions think about what you're saying, and how it relates to what you read.

this is the only explanation. A person behind you flashing their lights means get the fuck out of my way. Sometimes if you are in the fast lane people will put on their left blinker too, meaning "if their was another lane i would go the fuck around but i cant so move over shithead"
 
oh shit i misread the OP, thought he meant oncoming traffic was flashing him. yeah if people behind you were flashing you it means youre poking in the left lane. were you?
 
probably driving too slow. mass pike is all about going as fast as you can and then slamming on the brakes and going 10mph under the speed limit when you see a cop and hoping he didn't get you and then ripping back up to 90 when you're 15 feet past the cop. at least that's what everyone else does
 
wow, i could tell you were from new york before you even mentioned it.

If you want to go 65 on the mass pike get in the right lane and follow everyone else going between 60-70. The middle and left lane are always at 75 plus so if you're doing 65 in the middle lane it's prob. going to result in people flashing lights at you like the OP. On the mass pike the middle lane and the left lane are both passing lanes. That is what you said so how about you think what you say before coming off as ignorant. I drive the mass pike all the time, you don't. case closed, please learn from this experience.

most MA highways 65-70 is reasonable. But on the pike, if you are anywhere but the far right lane, 65 is dangerous. The pike doesn't represent MA drivers as a whole, because from what I've learned, generally it isn't speed, but more or less just the aggressive manner in which we drive. In boston cars aren't going 80mph, but will seem a bit crazier.

and saying others shouldn't have to adapt is impossible. Each time someone not from the area is around, every MA driver should completely change how they drive? Its not a difficult manner to drive in, just don't be stupid and go with the flow. If you can't adjust your driving manner slightly, you shouldn't be driving anywhere but your own area.
 
so people should just know that even though the sign says 65 they need to be going 80+ or they are an asshole? Seems totally illogical.

the state of new york was rated the worst drivers in america due to NYC, so you fail. although the worst drivers i've ever encountered were in providence, RI. the best drivers are in europe, specifically the mountains of switzerland
 
yes. the alps produce excellent drivers, as does all of northern europe.

Providence is inexplicably bad at driving. I just don't understand how or why, but they are. Not quite as bad as CT, but still.

and it's not hard to adjust. When you're being passed on both sides, and everyone is flashing their high beams at you or honking...you take action, and speed up. You're not being asked to suddenly be a professional stunt driver, just to move a little faster.

exactly a good driver knows to go with the flow of traffic rather than get in the way of everyone passing because they're going the speed limit.
 
LOL at you thinking CT drivers are bad. The farther I get away form CT, the worse the drivers are. It is so easy to drive in CT (at least for me because I am from there), no one is an asshole or drives like an idiot, its fast and smooth. Now when you get into Mass, they drive just as well as CT drivers, they are just assholes about it. Then get into VT where it appears that licenses are handed out anyone, and you will be pissed. It is amazing how incompetent Vermont drivers are. It amazes me.

Stop being such a defensive driver and be more offensive. Nobody gives a fuck what you do so just do it. You need to get 3 lanes over on 5th Ave? make it happen. You think for a second that the cab driver that you dont want to cut off isnt going to swerve into your lane so he can be the 1st person at the traffic light? Get Real.

You cant compare driving in Manhattan to driving on I95 thru Mass. Thats like comparing Squaw to Okemo.
 
hahah who the fuck is talking about 95? Try driving down comm or mass ave but 93 is one of the worst anywhere close to downtown especially in the tunnel..no streets in nyc compare to what we have to drive thru

I do agree tho..pussies complaining about bad drivers just need to stop being so defensive, grow a pair and if you want to get somewhere you have to be aggressive, it also helps driving a large vehicle like my TJ on 35's..most people don't get in the way of you when your vehicles tires go up to their cars roof
 
nah lived right near salt lake for a few years..when i joined ns i thought it was an awesome icon so i used it, didnt realize i was committing some heinous crime

people got their panties in a bunch over me using it but i liked the icon so it stayed
 
I was just replying to everyone bitching about driving in NYC.

And I know driving in Boston is no picnic either. But unless you have been on the BQE or The Cross Bronx at rush hour you havent experienced the worst.
 
Did you perhaps miss seeing a cop on your side of the road, is it possible your direction of traffic was warning the people coming in the opposite direction.
 
HAHAHA, thats so funny cause I think the same thing. I get paranoid that people are flashing me because of a cop ahead and go slower.
