Just got my skis back from evo to get them mounted noticed there is a gap in between the griffon track and actual ski is this normal? Or should I take off the heel piece and torque down the track myself

I have never had that happen, is it directly under where screws are? Regardless I wouldn’t do it yourself. Right now the will probably fix it for free, if you do it yourself you might just void that “warranty”

I am at school rn, i have a griffon set up on my Poachers. I think it should be on the ski. I will check when I get home.

This is a classic of the binding mounting issue genre. This isn’t the worst case of it that I’ve seen.

like others have said, don’t try and fix it yourself, the shop should do it for you. not just for the simple reason you’ll have to take the heel off the track, meaning you’ll need the forward pressure reset and you’ll have no recourse with the shop if something happens with the binding after you adjusted it

there are a number of reasons it could happen and some will need the shop to do extra work beyond just backing the screws out and tightening down again.

it could just be that the plate rode up when they were cranking the screw down and it just needs backed out and re-tightened with the plate held down.

it could be that they put the wrong screws in and they’re too long and if you tighten them down you’ll dimple the base.

It could be that they’ve not drilled the holes deep enough or not cleared the debris out the hole and tightening down the screws will also dimple the base.

I can see a little bit of the thread on both of my skis and my stepdads we got 3 pairs mounted and they all seem to have not been fully tourqed down

Which evo? I’ve heard Seattle some times has QC issues when they get slammed pre season.

when they did my boots I watched them rush a lot of people through fast because so many people were waiting for stuff.

I was also flexing my skis while snapped in just cuz i was stoked to get my skis back and I heard a little pop near the heel piece not sure if it was j the ski or actual binding

I would for sure take them back, if you do it yourself and over tighten the screws it will strip the wood out. I ate shit last year because a ski binding ripped out after being torqued to high lmao. Not fun
