I think a lot of you may have seen me around in threads like this, and as an amateur graphic designer I know exactly where a lot of you are coming from.
However that being said, I think we also have to think about where we fight our battles, cause in all honesty this guy's doing a lot better than some other people. He's giving the designer something in return, and by the sounds of it he's not looking for a "professional" logo either. It's more of a barter system, and I know I know a t-shirt isn't worth the time we all put into our designs but he's not looking for people like us to be spending time on this.
It'll just be something maybe on the back of my mind when I'm in class doodling or something, and if something turns out I'll maybe scan it and give him a vector.
If someone can help him out then fine, let that be. If you think it's unfair, that's fine too. to each his own, and I've heard (and used) the argument that it degrades the profession, but I don't think this is exactly the place to pull out that card.
I don't know, maybe I'm just being more naiive than usual, but that's my two cents.
