i had better say that this interview isn't my exact wording. or even close to it. yes im going to race......too. key word, too. Like someone said, they interview people to see what they are/have been doing. I was skiing on GS skis. They asked, so I told. Not trying to bring attention this way. It was mearly me doing what I want to do. If you want to criticize me for that, then go ahead. I won't criticize you for doing what you want to do. Just don't forget that I'm no carbon copy. I'm cutting a new trail, paving a new path, or working on things noone else has done yet. Pick one. I'm not saying noone has raced before. The proof to that is obvious. But where I want to take my ability involves me pushing myself at high speeds. I could just work on getting in that extra 180, or that extra flip. But where's the originality? Soon you'll have to do a triple flip to beat a double. I wan't no part of it. I just want to have fun.
Somewhere in the interview I talked about hundreds of people and yada yada. I meant it like...Take a slopestyle or pipe comp with a hundred competitors. The judges have to pick a winner based on their personal opinion. Put these same competitors in a race course, and there isn't an opinion of who won. Each person is timed from the same start to the same finish (obviously). Besides a few DNF's or DNS's you know where every single person ranked. To me, that's competition. One's ability tested against the next. Not one's ability judged agains the next. Because sadly, favorites do play a major role.
I shouldn't have to explain myself...no...I shouldn't explain myself. But it's a bit late for that. I appreciate every bit of support, and I'm fueled even more by those against me.
