get stoked...

God fuck this guy, he is a talentless hack. THIS IS NOT HIP HOP.

Enjoy being a 40 year old man and telling your kids "Yeahhhh, I know it seems goofy and dorky now, but back in the day Macklemore was cool for like 3 months and I saw him in breckenridge. God it's so embarassing"

"dad You're such a loser I hate you I'm wanna go back to moms house and hang out with Rick, he is a better dad than you and he likes good music."

nailed it.

bring a bunch of produce and throw it at them. Macklemore is a cuntish fuck who fucking sucks fuck.

I just got back from seeing him live. I don't care about the people saying hes a talentless fuck. He is fucking incredible live. Put on one of the best shows I have seen. Anybody that can get the crowd that amped is talented in my book.

to the people hating in this thread, get over it. If you don't like him then don't listen to him.

Is he my favorite raper? no

Would a rather see him then just about every other mainstream "raper" that exists right now? yes

last year everyone and their mom was riding macklemore's dick

anyways, asher roth is coming to penn state on friday with white panda

I'm not the least bit confused.

Macklemore is a raper. He produces songs that appeal to the general teenager which in turn qualifies him as a "pop" artist according to you. I understand where you are coming from on that but Macklemore is still a raper.

Understand too that i don't like all of his songs, there are a few with good messages that i do enjoy listening to.

And like I said before its not that i like him a lot, it's that i like him more then any other current rapers.

If you can't find a "rapper" that's better than Macklemore these days, you're looking in all the wrong places.

I don't really listen to mainstream rap. Only reason i know about those few Macklemore songs are from friends playing them or showing me. I rarely listen to any new rap because I think it all sounds the same, and terrible(see the thread about Pusha-T for examples.)

I stick to two stations on Pandora, Rolling Stones Radio, and Dr. Dre Radio

I mean, I agree I don't like all of his songs. But he is definitely worth seeing live. I really like the message in a few of his songs. Same Love is an incredible song.

Gonna be such a shitty concert. Not saying that Macklemore is gonna be shitty. But having 2000 punk ass kids try to get to the front to see their mainstream rapper ruins it. Its gonna turn out just like Mac Miller in Ogden last dew tour. Worst concert I've been too in my life.

I guess everyone at this can jerk each other off and enjoy having no fucking snow to ski on ya losers.

I can't relate to white rappers. THey are fags. Unless they keep it real and rap about hood shit and all.

I only relate to hood shit about getting paper, hos, guns etc. I hustle for a living that shit inspires me not some fucking bitch. All my favorite rappers are getting locked up for nothing and basically being too real like Boosie and BG. If anyone is from Boston I won't hate automatically but white rappers from anywhere else are gay. I just don't want to see that shit.

Wiggers whining doesn't inspire me sorry I can't relate to that it.

I have a bunch of friends who are still "following their dream" 6 years after college touring around with their honkey ass fuck rap groups its sad and pathetic. Get a job.

Macklemore is so goddamn refreshing compared to the aimless bullshit that continuously gets turned out by 99% of rappers today. Fuck Lil Wayne, fuck Mobb Deep, fuck Biggie, fuck Bad Boy as a staff, record label, and as a mother fucking crew.

And if you want to be down with Bad Boy, then fuck you too.

Chino XL, fuck you too. All you mother fuckers, fuck you too.

All of y'all mother fuckers, fuck you, die slow motherfucker.

My fo fo make sure all yo kids don't grow. You motherfuckers can't be us or see us. We mother fuckin' Thug Life riders. West Side till' we die.

Yeah lets just keep artists from ever becoming successful! That's logical.

The whole "eww I don't like mainstream, what a sell out" attitude is the most retarded shit I've ever heard.

i saw mac miller in a medium sized indoor venue last december and it was one of the best shows i've been to

and although it may now be mainstream, he still never "sold out" hes still independent. and i dont care who you are or what kind of music you like being that successful as an independent artist is awesome.

what was your first clue?

and I am so happy to see that other people can't stand macklemor's music.... that fucking shoes song where he sounds like he's about to cry the whole time got so much hype & is the epitome of a gimmicky rap tune if I've ever heard one.

Macklemore is too rad. He is definitely one of the best hip hop artists there is right now. So disappointed I wont be getting back to Colorado until the 18th.

There's a difference from being a mainstream artist and being a popular artist. Look at The Roots, they're extremely popular, but definitely not mainstream. They may be on Def Jam now, and Def Jam is owned by Universal, but they made their name through doing what they wanted independently, just as Macklemore is doing (not that Macklemore can even touch the Roots). Big name record labels don't let talent become mainstream because with talent usually comes a brain and the labels want followers, not individualists. That's why nearly every talented artist has had to make their name either by putting their talent aside and doing what the industry tells them to do, by starting their own independent labels, or by joining an already established independent label. You can't make the music you want to under a big label these days unless you go independent or are a genius like John Mayer and sell your soul for 5 years so you can do your own thing the way you want to.

I don't love Macklemore, and I don't think I will ever listen to him in my free time, but goddamn he puts on one of the better hip hop shows I've been to. I respect that he does whatever he wants, how he wants. Shit, if Zion I promotes him, he can't be that bad. I saw Macklemore touring with them before he blew up and Zumbi let him come on stage and freestyle with him. Macklemore almost out performed Zumbi and Zumbi couldn't wipe the smile off his face he was so impressed.

Macklemore is performing for FREE at Colorado Mesa University on 420.... April 20, 2013

That's right, that's my school.

Hopping on the hate train, cant stand his over emotional sappy songs, it's good every once in a while but not every song. His production is dope though

I know most people are bagging on him but the dude's insane, he raps about social issues not pointless issues that makes no sense. I live in Omaha and I get to see him this wednesday, he's going to be awesome, I don't think it matters what others think, he's pretty damn popular anyways

out of curiosity to all those with hate for macklemore-

other than the obveous tupac/big/wu-tang, who would you consider a good rapper in todays industry? because I think macklemore is miles ahead of half the fuckers putting out albums these days.

Mac Miller did a good job but the venue and the people there ruined it. People were throwing glass bottles in the air which came crashing down on peoples heads. Some girl got a whole pony tail ripped off of her head and was bleeding like crazy. Hopefully Dew Tour does a good job at managing their concert this year because last years management sucked ass and the concert just went down hi...

every 15 year old who says "omg he raps about real shit not just drugs and booty like every other rapper" doesn't listen to enough hip hop to make such an outlandish claim

and that track about going to a thrift shop might be the weakest shit i have ever heard. macklemore sucks.
