Okay people. There is a thing called evolution of an art form. Maybe he doesn't sound like the rappers that originally started hip Hop, or like some of the others around now. Music changes and progresses over time, so just because it's different doesn't mean it sucks donkey cock. It's much like visual art. Painters who pushed the boundaries and created DIFFERENT styles of painting are regarded as the best in history. Much like people pushing boundaries in music are considered great. If you don't like his music, fantastic, but the fact of the matter is he is a very talented individual, following his passion in life and being extremely successful. How anybody hates someone for doing that is beyond me...

with the exception of earl sweatshirt, kanye, and kendrick lamar I agree with this list. But almost everyone you mentioned has also been around for more than a decade if not longer (with the exception of the aforementioned and a few others) while macklemore has been on the scene since 2005 and really didn't have any buzz until around 2007-2008. You are comparing pioneers to the next generation.

Saw him twice in a week, first time was a free concert he put on. The second time was a sold out 8000 person show, both in seattle his home city. Best performance, I'll you little fucks don't know music or the message he's putting out there.
