Mac Users of NSG

question:
i turned off my mac once for an update and another time to just to check, but both times it got rid of my shells i created in geektool? i dont know how to save my group, does anyone else know?
 
i dont think there is a way, ive been looking, but to no avail.
If you want, just create a txt file with all your scripts in it. or export all ur scripts and put em in a folder somewhere.
 
how do you get the date/time to show up? I made a script geeklet and put the code in but all i have is a box showing the space where the text should be
 
yo, u want scripts for geek tool? i set up a little file with the weather scripts and stuff. ill send to to anyone who wants em. save some time.

yea, if you make a new group before you start putting in all the scripts and pictures, after you restart your computer just go into geektool and click on the group you want to display and then click refresh all, and if that doesnt work just click and drag a script onto the desktop and all of them should pop up. then if your weather image doesnt show up after that click on refresh all again
 
My setup is pretty much the same, I just don't have the itunes or bottom left corner stuff.

Date, time, etc. are very similar, and the background image is the same.
 
This sort of makes sense thanks. do you have the scripts for ottawa on a textedit document by any chance?

if not I'll just figure it out

You will need 2 scripts, one in a Shell and one in an image

Replace the toronto URL with the city of your choice. just go on yahoo weather and search ur city. (full size is 250x180 for resizing to scale)
2. in the Image you put file:///tmp/weather.png
And the image will pop up. dont forget to change the refresh rate from 0 to.... 1? 100? whatever.

now look at the address bar

You have to change the names and the directory to match where you saved the iTunesInfo.scpt as u can see my name is Derek and i saved it in a file named "geektool" in my documents folder. just edit that a bit and throw it into a shell

No it actually isn't. he always asks me on transformice if I wanted to know his last name. I never wanted to, but now I do.
 
First off this is my setup:

Get the simple time, date, calender, weather

But what every skier needs is an updated webcam to see how the mountains looking. (notice mine in the bottom right hand corner. It's night time right now)

Go to your home mountain's website. Click on "mountain cams" or "webcams". Find how to enlarge it so the only thing on the screen is the webcam.

For example, Sunshines webcam enlarged looks like this:

Copy the URL. Go to geek tool. Drag the image geeklet onto your desktop. Copy URL into where it says URL. Then make the refresh time for every 120 seconds. Voila!

Sorry for the double post but if some one could help me figure out how to see what song and artist are playing from itunes on geektool. I would love the to bits and pieces. (No homo?)
 
use the video in the first post on this page. quite helpful, and it has links to all the files you need. pretty easy. I just had trouble with the location part.
 
Yup, I used that video and figured it out a lot quicker than I did trying to figure it out through blogs/websites.
 
my geeklets just straight up don't show up, I make a new group then drag a new script out then put in the date or time code and nothing shows up in my greyish space box. WtHhHhHhHhHhHh
 
if its the script i posted, then i changed it, i put the album and artist on the same line because i dont care much for the specific album, i listen to mixes and shit that dont have an album, but when it does, it shows up. and saves vertical space.
i can send u the original script, pm me.

 
if they have an RSS feed and someone has written up a script, then i think it would work. i would like to use them aswell, but i havent found a script yet. ill look again.
