M&A stoke

I really need to get out and shoot some stuff. I kind of feel like I have been wasting the rolls I have in my cameras right now.
 
Welp. Bought a new 1D charger for 87 shipped... So at least it wasn't as atrociously expensive as I first assumed.

Also, two new flashes on the way, so that's cool.
 
Do you have renters insurance or anything to cover any of that? I thought for the longest time renters insurance was stupid, but then you find out about all of the random shit it covers and it's actually pretty awesome.
 
Well, my dad's name is on the title of the car primarially so I can get discounted auto insurance AND so it falls under my parent's homeowners shit. I need to look into it and make a claim.
 
i just uploaded my first photos to 500px and two of them got popular within 10 minutes, i think that's good? i'm liking this site a lot more than flickr so far for sure.
 
Stoked my V600 wasn't actually broken. I literally waited 6 months before contacting Epson about it being broken. Partially because I really didn't want to see the pictures I've been taking since the beginning of the year, partially because I'm lazy. I send it to them and they provided me with a (free) 220-240V adapter. Everything's working just fine.

Also: my Pakon scanner is coming in the next two weeks. Then I can really start burning through all the rolls I've been saving up since January...

Super stoked!

That's about 280 rolls of lovely medium format (mostly slide) film. Just check out that insane amount of Velvia. Over 150 rolls of Velvia (mostly 100f, but also 20+ rolls of RVP and RVP100).

 
I'm selling most of it, only keeping what I really 'need'. Most of the Velvia 100f is being sold, as well as all the print film (except for the Portra). I'm adding a little margin on each roll and by the end I'll break even, leaving me with a lot of free film. Even after adding a margin, I'm still selling the film really cheaply (
 
some video stoke...shot our commercial for the dorritos crash the super bowl contest and so far it looks pretty sweet. we'll see how the edit turns out
 
I like it with the tree better. Protip: get a few more strobes going! It would have been nice if the one you have placed camera right was moved a bit more to the right and powered down, and then you had one camera left as well as behind the rail as a rim light
 
Thanks man, I definitely want to try some multiple strobe setups in the future! Right now I only have one and am a little low on money because my 40d died so if you know some cheap quality ones let me know through a message.
 
Awesome, congrats! I still find myself learning/relearning how to better operate mine to this day - it's tons of fun.

Speaking of Glidecams though, I'm putting together a piece about the automation (robotics, moving elements, etc.) of Michael Buble's live tour and just came across this shot. It most likely won't be in the final piece, but I'm STOKED on the shot itself. This is straight out of the camera, no digital stabilization.

Hoping that the series will meld skiing and art in a much more enjoyable and watchable fashion than Into The Mind did. With the Nimbus name, I'd imagine we will get exactly that and more.
 
I was just offered $500 to make a promotional video for a charity in Massachusetts, after the founder saw a documentary I made for a film class!
 
Just landed a job making a video for my schools drama department massive stoke for that ,and stoker on the new colour correction "luts" I just got and using them for the ski season and the drama department video.
 
They axed of a lot film in the beginning of this year but also redesigned the boxes for the ones they still produce.

Surely Velvia 50 and Provia are here to stay...

 
Kinda doubting that...

...although, I seriously feel like they should be available for large and medium format, since there's really no digital counterpart.

Anti-stoke:

I learned two things today. Never use a cheap plasticky tripod in cold weather, it will break. And make sure that you know you properly loaded a roll of film or else you might be shooting on nothing and wont realize until it only takes half a second to rewind your roll.
 
So after pushing it back a few times, I'm now taking in film orders if anyone is interested. B&W/C41 35mm dev and scan $10 + shipping, 3000x2000px scans, dip & dunk processing, and the knowledge there was probably a ski movie playing in the background during processing. Sample scans (click)
