M&A stoke

That's awesome! Have a great trip.

Unrelated: I finally made the investment in a nice display and am about to start editing my first project on it, so I'm pretty excited.

Woohoo for road trips! I'm going Portland > San Fran > Tahoe > SLC > Yellowstone > Flathead Lake > Sandpoint > Seattle > Portland next month.

I need to order a box or two of portra for it. I'm still too scared to shoot slide film.

Wwhy don't you just get Kodak Gold or Fuji Superia? Both great film too and 1/3rd the price of Portra...

Either way: have fun. I'm glad you're shooting film too!

I have a case of expired gold 100, maybe i'll just shoot that. I guess i have a sour taste about gold 100 right now because i tried to push the last roll i had to 200 and it looked like shit haha.

People vastly exaggerate the difficulty of shooting chromes. Just spot meter your highlights and shadows to confirm they're within the 4 stop range.

Having shot my fair bit of slide film now, I can only say that it's fucking so much more satisfying when you get it back, realized you nailed the exposure. Plus, the negatives are so fucking awesome.

If I'm not shooting Portra or B/W I'm shooting Velvia 50 for my landscapes, absolutely.

Man after playing with an M6 in B&H (That place is fucking epic) I REALLLLLLLLY want one....

Everything about Leicas seems attractive except for their predisposition (reportedly) to street photography more than adventure applications. Yes I prefer primes but when you're doing big mountain primes are insanely impractical.

And after walking around NYC with my 5d3 and canon 1n trying to shoot street stuff, it's insanely attractive

They're called 'Radian'. It's an ios/android controlled egg-timer basically. Except you have a LOT of control. It's an amazing product and very cheap (like 100$?). They were insanely succesfull on kickstarter. Cool to see they're shipping and stuff.

Am I the only one who isn't a big fan of the M6? It's one of my least favorite M's. I've used M3/M2/M4/M6/MP. Though I probably would like the M4-2/M4-P less (from what I've heard).

And as to being 'discrete' on the streets: I'm 6'5 and I managed to do it with a 5D and manual focus lens. It can't be that hard with a super-fast AF 5d3 and L lens, can it?

These are a couple of shots I took when I was in NYC last summer. It's one of the easiest places in the world to shoot on the street me thinks.

For me its mostly just the weight of my mk3 (with grip and sigma 50) and the size (again sigma 50). It was fine shooting with it, but carrying around a big pack to be able to store my 5d when not in use was annoying

Yea pretty much what you said, I found it on kickstarter for 150 and got 2. Then i just got these L brackets to connect them together for 40 bucks each. Since then the price has gone up to around 240ish and they arent shipping until the fall again. And yes, they have an app where you can control all the settings. Here is what the actual app looks like:

And here is Radian in action:

The meter is a heavy center weighted spot meter, point the RF patch where you want to meter for, then recompose. You are setting the shutter speed anyway. It works quite well actually and is very accurate.

AHHH I am so excited! I just got back from my trip to San Diego and I went through 3 rolls of color and half a roll of B&W. I got an epic sunset one night and on the plane ride home the sunset was amazing with a layer of clouds painted a beautiful red. We were driving to LA from San Diego and stopped at a random beach where the surf was pretty good and the best waves seemed to be right next to the pier so I got some (hopefully) good surf shots from a pretty cool angle. I don't have any money to get my film developed though :(

God, whoever bitches about the flycam nano being hard to balance... seriously? Shit was fucking PIE... Took me maybe 20 or so minutes to get it 99% perfect. If I actually wanted to spend another 20 I could probably get it spot on. people are derp...

Just got my first assisting gig! Second shooting a wedding on the 13th and then 3 or 4 after than assuming all goes well.

just got done with a long 8 hour shoot for a wedding. Got some awesome shots and super stoked to start editing and seeing how it all comes together.

"Boren & Union Film Lab" in Seattle is about to be goin off

that is what I am dubbing kyle and my apartment, SO MUCH FILM, SO MANY CHEMICALS

got back a few days ago, but I was in Longmont, denver, and mostly Crested butte/gunnison area. Best week in quite some time. Didn't film all that much because it wasn't paid and it was a recreational friendly wedding... but still got some shots I'm happy with and will put up a lil montage eventually

Excellent, you happy, me happy.

Now to business, when can I send in the mountains of film that have to be developed?

Got an Fstop Loka (+Large ICU) and a pro pack of velvia 50 for my birthday! Hoping to shoot it all while in Yellowstone/Bozeman/Jackson

have some fun making this video, little different than most things i make, thought itd be better to post here vs a thread (note: i just shot and cut, the creative direction was not mine along with some of the editing choices ie film burns)

Saw this on Facebook and thought "Since when does Eheath approve of cheesy film burns?" Sure enough, an hour later, my answer lies here

filmed my first ever 24p edit. Pretty pumped on how it's coming out. 24p editing is a breeze haha, no contemplating about what to slo-mo

oh my fstop loka showed up today, pretty nice, needs a dream catcher or something to add some hipness to it

Will be able to go on walks and stuff with a broken neck, so my summer timelapse plans have not be thwarted.

I'm not gonna lie, once I saw that you were all okay I thought that photo of you was pretty funny. You just had a major life threatening injury and yet there's a photo of you with a grin from ear to ear.

Glad to hear it & the surgery went well
