M&A stoke

Haven't shot on the hill yet, but The quality on it is retarded. Hopefully getting it on the slopes by saturday or something

Stoked because:

-Just spent three hours brainstorming an awesome trip on my way home from skiing

-Friend is hooking me up with his buddy's Bronica SQ-A this wednesday, it was stupid cheap

-Got a 120 back for a decent price because he was only including a 220, also some film

not stoked that I came home to my computer crashed (again), but glad I found the problem is my graphics card shitting the bed and glad that my dad needed to order a new hard drive and is likely willing to let me order a new GPU through him

Yeah the first episodes are gonna be mostly old stuff but we will get more into present day later in the series

Oh yes haha. Far easier to use than a gh2 IMO. My favorite thing is how the ergonomics have gotten way better than the gh2's. When I got to play with a gh2, everything was all over the place. The other huge plus is that it has other codecs besides avchd which was a pain in the ass to deal with. Now I can record into .mov files. 1080p60fps will be a nice feature, will be exciting to see how my computer does with those files though.

Biggest con: accessories cost a fuck ton. 80 for a battery and 300ish for a battery grip. shits fucked. Other con/fear of mine is that there's no mirror protecting the sensor, which I already suck at protecting as is (go watch some of my videos from last spring). Hopefully the sensor cleaner is better than canon's

Oh word. Sweet. Post some shit up when you get a chance to film on hill.

I think I will make the switch after ski season, or this summer. I hope by then there are some after market batteries and some hacks.

None that I can tell. I absorbed the water droplets by touching them with a microfiber cloth without touching the sensor. Shot the rest of the day and saw no ill effects in the footage. Sensor looks good as new, too.

Not skiing, but good god this is top notch quality. Shot with a pentax 50mm

its been interesting for me as well. my mid 2011 mbp 17" has the odd issue playing back the non conformed 1080 60p footage from my ac-160 but it hasnt been that much of an issue. If I hadn't made the decision to swap to a actual video camera this summer (which i dont regret at all) I totally would have made the change to the gh3 from my 7D. pumped to see what you put out with it.

just picked up a canon t4i with a Rode mic, LAV mic, 2 lenses and a bunch of other smaller stuff to go with it.

yay kickstarter. Also hopefully getting my friend to make a glidecam for me.

Got about 40 rolls of film coming in, yeah! Also going to buy 2 100ft rolls of Arista Premium (rebranded Tri-X) soon, so that'll be another 40 rolls. That'll keep my busy for a while

super stoked to finally be filming some legit skiing tomorrow with two other filmers and some legit tahoe riders. can't wait to see how this edit turns out, gonna be epic tho

Stoked I just dropped off my photos to be printed for my university portfolio. The guy at the desk laughed when I gave him 80mb film scans for 8x10's.....

Just bought a bunch of new darkroom stuff.

Bought a bunch of new tanks (a 5 roll, 2 roll and 1 roll tank) which'll be great to develop more than one tank at the same time as well as for experimenting with new developers. Want to try a lot of new developers too (Acufine, Diafine, Xtol, HC110 and Rodinal first) as well as new developing techniques.

this may be obvious, but do you realise that you are trying to explain that to a snake? a cornhole snake?

thanks boys, there'll be a ski gif posted around twice a week til mid february on my tumblr, so not for now but later.

should I make a ski gifs thread?

they're easy to make if you have photoshop, and bangers, filmers get on this...

The guy gave me his second bronica body in with the other stuff I grabbed.
