M&A stoke

silver efex is the shit!!! and why are you not using color efex pro 4.0 thats honestly one of the greatest programs ever created for ps

capture one is like lr4, but better and made for high end cameras. coverts and renders raw images like no other check it out

not much, only filmed handheld one run because I felt like shredding. shot wide open at 1.4 because i wanted to, it's not crazy sharp at 1.4, but I'm really happy with the look

Dude, that was so awesome! I really really like the shallow dof for the action. Sometimes its a little out of focus, but you're doing well! Stop down to f/2 and that should make for great footage. Good choice you're using vintage glass

yeah, my mountains preseason setup isn't much so i wanted to try something a little different. Next time i'll be sure to stop it down a bit, just really wanted to see what it had at 1.4. Super stoked on getting a good deal on it, just really need to buy a step down ring for my ND. I really had to crank the shutter at times and I really hate doing that, love adjusting exposure with a ND filter. Once the full park gets up at my home mountain I'm really hoping to have a full-length edit of the same vibe, keep it super edgy and tight.

Also, really fucking stoked on my setup, I think it's officially complete but I know I've said that before.

t2i

tokina 11-16 2.8

rokinon 35mm 1.4

pentax super tak 50mm 1.4

rokinon 85mm 1.4

canon 70-200 f4l non IS

This is wonderful. Longer lenses don't get enough love with follow cams.

Also I'm jealous of your Tak. I have the SMC 1.4 and I'm still debating whether or not its worth getting a Tak version.

I finally upgraded my 6 year old MBP (dual core 2, 2gigs of ram) to my dad's 1.5 year old one; I5, 4 gigs of ram (upgrading to 8), bigger internal, screen is so nice. My old one was just dying a slow death, graphics card was toast, lag times in LR and PS were unbearable. So happy now!

I loved the video as well! with an ND just keep it at f2ish and it will be sick!

Just grabbed a 77mm 1.2 (4 stop) Hoya ND, and some 67-77 and 72-77 step up rings to throw it on my lenses.

one of which arrives tomorrow ;)

I'm still in awe of the build quality of it, it's insanely solid and the focus ring is so smooth.

^ to Jamie/anyone else- Would people recommend a variable or fixed stops? I currently have the fader light variable ND and love being able to quickly change it, but I'm curious if there's another variable out there that people would suggest? Or if there's a reason I shouldn't go for another variable, just looking for other input on this

How the fuck did you keep it so steady handheld at 80mm? Just smooth pistes or what? I would barely get that at 25.

I was gonna just PM you but I figure others could benefit from it as well, but why solids? not arguing your view, I honestly just don't know enough about it so I'm curious. I really just hate carrying around an overload of gear while I film and I feel if I went the fixed route, I'd end up having to buy a few of them in order to shoot my preferred settings. Would you strongly suggest against the variable or is this more of a preference? thanks

I'm just not a fan of variables. It's mostly because I haven't seen one without some color shifting and sharpness issues, and they're super hit or miss even with a good brand. I guess if you're doing video work though, they're incredibly convenient to have. Talk to eheath, I know he had one but just got a solid ND too

I got a variable nd fader and its really nice to have. I bought the LCW II on eheaths recommendation and I'm very pleased with it. I don't have any color shifting or sharpness issues.

PSA if you're using a Canon DSLR for video, the softening of a variable ND will probably only help moiré issues at the very most, making it a non-issue. If you're shooting stills however...

ready for skiing tomorrow, first day taking the leica out with me

YAY my SEO is improving! Im first on google for 'brandon moore photography' and 'brandon moore photo'! took me almost a year to get ahead of a couple others

nope didn't pay anything, just kept up with my blog, lots of tags and pictures and content. stupid bmooreginal.com was ahead of me for a long time but i finally got him beat! Actually took a class on SEO freshman year, interesting stuff, sweet to see it pay off

haha damn within the first week of having my website it was first on google search, guess that a perk of having a pretty unique last name

haha ya dude, there was a decent amount of competition for keywords with my name and photography. took me forever to pick a domain name, literally everything except brandonmoorephoto.com was taken

Ah word nice. I guess I'm decently unique but the facebook that comes up isnt mine then there is a football player named heath Evans but I beat them all

Get an SMC-Tak 135mm 3.5. Great little lens, very cheap and EXTREMELY smooth focus ring. The SMC Tak focus rings can't be beat.

Wouldn't go for the Pentacon; there's a lot of HORRIBLE versions of that lens around.

Heres a screenshot of an unedited shot of a little video im working on. This is really my first time using my S-M-C Tak 50mm 1.4 for a video. No CC done.

[imghttp://farm9.staticflickr.com/8203/8245687846_3bb8170956.jpg[/img]

obviously, the quality is raped by ns/flickr

haha thanks for the effort anyways man.

yeah i fucking love this lens. keep in mind that this was snapped right from a video. might add the 135mm to it as well.

^lol awesome

this is my new bag, going to be picking up an f stop icu to go in it, but for the mean timehave a small lowepro case inside

Photo%20Dec%2004%2C%203%2048%2037%20PM.jpg

now then, anyone have experience with ICU's? what size should i go for? 16L pack, taking my leica + lenses/film, would be nice if i could squeeze my rz in at times

I don't know how big an RZ or leica are, but I have a small shallow ICU and it fits my Bronica + 80mm + 250mm + extra room about the size of my 80mm.

by horrible, I'm guessing you mean the auto/electric ones?and the auction I was going for on the pentacon fell through, so probably Tak. That's good to know about the focus!

My amature camera setup is almost complete. I have my t2i with a kit lens aswell as a 11-16. For tripod i have a rocketfish, (nothing special) and nat all i need is a memory card that can keep up with the t2i. (Any suggestgions would be helpful). Im also looking into a canon 50 mm

RAM upgrade.

Did some time-remapping in AE, I can finally get the audio ramped legitimately, which looks and sounds awesome.

Now that my workflow/editing style is solidified, I'm just stoked pump out some cool skiing for y'all!

Also I Might switch back to SD for a few videos, JUST FOR A DAMN PADDLE ZOOM.

JUST ACQUIRED A COPY OF HENRI CARTIER-BRESSON'S DECISIVE MOMENT

Arguably one of the best photo books ever published. Copies go for 500$+ but I got it for much less! SOOOO HAPPPPYYYYYY

It's not the 'original' version with the Matisse cover, but nevertheless, I'm super happy. What a beautiful book!

Thanks Brock! Should be a really fun time and there's going to be a HUGE turnout it seems
