M&A stoke

Yeah I've been doing that. It's the concavity I'm having problems with now. I've had them under a book all day now so they're probably fine. I never have this problem with 35mm, probably cause they're so skinny.

Holy shit, big day.

2 1080p 27" monitors

new editing desktop

Intel i7-3930k 6-core 3.2ghz

geforce gtx 660ti 2gb

128gb ssd boot drive

1tb data drive

So hyped.

don't have cable at my place so decided to pick up one of these today, still messing around with it, but it's pretty nice how I can watch newschoolers vids via airplay on my TV now.

Stoked I just guided evan down the totally wrong road on his computer purchase! He's going to be so miserable it wont even work for him

just kidding, sick build for sure dude

Gonna run windows 7, using adobe so it doesn't really matter. I've heard adobe runs better on win7 too anyway.

Ya, all adobe now I love it. Monitors were $199 each (sale from 350) and computer build was 1400.

I'm one pointless and gimmicky software update away from never using Apple's shitty products. Apple can suck a dick and die.

hahaha you guys are such nerds go - go out and shoot!!

to add to stoke next week i'm assisting with one of my professors. portrait for an editorial for some new york magazine - all shooting on 4 x 5 too just to prove analog still reigns supreme even in editorial work

Canadian tire ftw. I was buying christmas shit for my mom and ended up making a surprisingly solid handle for under $15 bucks. THEY MAKE DIGI-CAMO coloured ducttape. boom. Also I'm going to kick my a-bangs delamination's ass tomorrow with a few plastic bags, clamps, and a $20 dollar blowtorch I also bought at canadian tire.

tldr: Canadian Tire is the best ever

NS HELP ME OUT WITH A QUICK QUESTION:

Snows about to fall in ontario and i want to do some timelapses. How long should a timelapse of snowfall usually be and will there be any problems with leaving my t2i outside of long hours? Lastly how many gigs of card space should i have ready when shooting a timelapse and what should the settings be at?

Any helpful answers +k

STOKED to finish this recent project to round out a pilot mini-series for a client. Even more stoked to be back on track after the theft of most of my editing equipment!

stoked on the way it's working out

especially because i've never worked with code before

damn didn't realize you had one for sale, bought it new for 250 though and I'm sure you wouldn't have wanted to go much lower than that

ya thats what i got mine for, has a focus confirm chip too. oh well, enjoy! awesome lens, i just dont like MF for photos, especially tighter shots

Thats what im trying to say. Its not bad, but all of his other lenses are pretty damn good. There are MANY more options in the 100-150 dollar price range, unless you need AF.

surprisingly I really see no need to upgrade the 50, unless I were to go for the 1.2-- which is a little out of my budget. I could care less about how fast the auto focus is, as I only use it for video. Also, even though a lot of people love this lens, I still think it's very overlooked. It's built like a toy but the glass is amazing. I take good care of my gear, so I'm not too concerned about how well the build is. Best 90 bucks I've ever spent

If you dont use the AF because you are using video, you could upgrade to something in the same price range. I know I got my SMC Tak 50mm 1.4 for $110 in absolute pristine condition. It is sharper, and faster than the canon. Not to mention, the price of them only goes up due to high demand.

I loved my 50mm to, but when I switched over to a vintage 50mm, I was hitting myself for not doing it sooner.

I think the main reason people don't like the 50 1.8 is because its plastic and the focus throw is like 40 degrees of rotation.

damn, I've never looked into this lens but I'll look around. I do think the rokinon puts out a different look than the canon, but I'm really surprised the SMC is sharper than the canon 1.8. Is it very sharp when you shoot wide open? I'll mostly be using it for interviews

I didn't really like it because of the focus ring being shit, and it being way too delicate for me. I don't see why everyone thinks having a short focus ring is such a bad thing, I much prefer a 90 degree(although ~150 would probably be best) to 270, 270 just takes too long to turn and can't be done in one motion. I don't get why everyone is having such a hard time making small adjustments with a short focus throw.

Well with the Canon 50 f1.8, the throw was short, AND the focus ring it self was small, and not smooth at all. That was one major turn off for me.

Yeah the focus ring itself was shit, but I've never had a problem with short focus throws.
