Got to screen a music video I directed for my Production I class the other day in front of a good sized crowd. Got an awesome reaction and it won the "Audience Choice Award". Honestly not totally satisfied with how it came out, but I never really am. Nevertheless the validation feels good.

turning a chunk of wood I found in my basement into an Aaton style handle. Chiseling and sanding away at it for the past two hours, could be really sick
 
Why's that? LR is super powerful. The RAW engine is the same as CS 6' and more powerful than all previous versions of photoshop. And LR's organizing capablities are great
 
going cheap for now (FSU or old canon ltm), but just till after the holidays, then I'll probably grab a zeiss 35mm f2 or a nokton 1.1
 
seriously..I understand editing a photo from time to time in PS, in which case you can edit in PS then bring back into LR seamlessly.
 
stoke on my slider, battery's, ball head, quick release plates arrived and hopefully shooting a lot of mountain biking this summer.
 
Yeah, you just select 'edit in photoshop' and then bring it back. That's why the program's so awesome in the first place.
 
actually it's alright, I wasn't able to grip the rail on my skis. Got home and noticed my edges were literally rounded -__-
 
if only the VML had come friday instead of this afternoon, they were pretty weak :(((
 
What did flashes you shoot with?

How did the sync on your 5D do? Whats max sync? Like 250? You don't end up with blurry shots with slow shutter speeds?
 
Stoked on my first timelapse.

Not stoked that it looks like crap...

Why does it look so bad? Shot and edited in 1080p, Apple Prores (LT), then compressed with Compressor to h.264. I'm no video expert so I might have fucked something up but I don't get why it looks so goddamn crappy. Probably has to do with vimeo, because it looks super good when I play it in VLC....

FINALLY got my first 3 rolls of 35mm back. Damn, I'm impressed with myself! I'll post gallery links once they DL, stupid hosting service is terrible for their delivery
 
I was shooting with a Sunpak 555 and Canon 550EX.

5d syncs pretty well, although for most of what I was doing that afternoon, I was using my Pixel Kings with ETTL and the 550ex so it could have been hypersyncing. Actually it probably was, as this photo is 1/250th and he's not perfectly frozen which means it was using full power. Flash is handheld camera right.

Basically, I had to wait for the sun to go behind the mountain to actually have a shot at overpowering ambient with speedlights. Stoked to try the einstein, though it will probably be mad overkill
 
Also:

STOKED AS FUCK that I'm finally skiing. Just on some playground. My first time skiing rails (I know, I know...), my first time urban and lastly, my first time shooting skiing/action with flash. This is all new for me so I'm not very happy with the lighting and all, but the shot came out cool and people are stoked on it so I'm happy!

It might even make the cover photo for tomorrow which I'm super stoked on!

Snagged a t2i refurb for $340/shipped and taxed directly from canon for a project. Better than 99% of used prices I've seen!

 
yeah that piece of shit 5d3 has too much nonsense weather sealing 6.3fps gimmic-y full frame digic 5 high iso king shit going on.
