M&A stoke

Hold on. I didn't get my .photography TLD through Snapnames. Fuck those guys. They suck. I meant through Namecheap.com.

I can get Tijmen.Media for 25$ a year.

Who actually uses one of those kind of domains other than to just own it? Whatever.com just makes more sense to me and the vast majority of the not as computer literate world.

I mean I'd keep mattsklarmedia.com and just forward it to MattSklar.media

The vast majority of the world does not know they exist. They seem like little more than a gimmick that Tumblr photographers get their labias in a twist over.

".com" is a given and takes zero effort for people to remember to append it to the end of the domain name. ".media/.photo/.clothesfordogs" just adds another thing to remember and puts additional strain on potential clients just so they can view your damn website. Seems counterintuitive from a marketing standpoint. Why compromise the function of your website just to add some level of faux-aesthetic to something as trivial as a web address?

Just wrapped shooting a feature film in 12 days. Stoked on film in general. Was up till 4:30 last night diving into freezing, oily water trying to recover a van for the film. (long story, cars don't float) and I haven't gotten more than 5 hours of sleep in two weeks but I still can't stop bing stoked. Making movies doesn't suck. Working for free for a long time is finally paying off.

Leicas are for pussies.

How much?

I wish this was a purchase, just borrowing it from the store I work at for the rest of August; before I have to leave my job to go back to school.

One of the lads at one of my favourite camera stores has a Xpan that he recently borrowed out to a colleague.

Freaky coincidence.

Awesome camera still. 10/10. would shoot people's backs with.

I made an edit with old footage that was just sitting on my harddrive. Kinda pumped on it, makes me want to film (and be filmed haha) more! I don't embed NS videos often and the preview only shows a link so hoping it works...

Found a Canon AE-1 program at a garage sale for a dollar today. Cleaned it up and its working beautifully. Stoked to shoot some film!

Just got a homemade glidecam from one of my friends who bought a better glidecam. I'm stoked to film with it this winter.

As said for the 5 millionth time. haha.

Just got the last piece of the super awesome film scanning setup I'm working on, photos to come if it works as I'm hoping it will!

Finally went out over the last few days and shot digital. It's been about a month since I have. feels weird. Instant gratification is nice.

Same, except I had a sinking feeling in my gut because I knew I'd have to waste more of my life fucking around with it on a computer just so that it wouldn't look like shit.

Spent today shooting photos of Sugarloaf's Golf Course. #1 course in the state of Maine and constantly in Golf Digest's top 100 courses in the country, it's beautiful.

Basically, I spent 6.5 hours on the course taking photos, and then have imported, sorted, edited, proofed, and exported all of the photos up until now. Long day, but worth it, and I have 69 photos I'm stoked to show for it.

Now to get an upload going and head to bed so I can go road trip to Rhode Island to chase some surf and shoot it tomorrow! :D

Rad! Much better buy than my tele lens.

Yea, I figured I would probably use it a lot more, after shooting around on it yesterday I think I made the right decision, its pretty fun.

my umbrella strobe setup finally arrived from b&h today, and i'm already stoked on it. i played around with it for a little bit and i'm positive that my pictures are going to be a lot better once i really learn proper lighting.

Along with an alternate body color the Fuji X-T1 will have it's firmware updated to include many useful features such as improved customability, manual controls in video, and a new electronic shutter option that will increase the possible shutter speed to 1/32000th of a second. No more need for an ND filter for portraits!

Also what they're calling the silver edition is a little overkill:

"Graphite Silver Edition

The special edition Graphite Silver version of the X-T1 features a uniquely durable and aesthetic triple layer coating finish that serves to both protect it and give it tremendous visual appeal. Succeeding an initial antioxidant treatment to the magnesium alloy body, a matte black primer coat is first applied. This helps to develop a shadow-like appearance that also accentuates the highlights developed by subsequent coats. The second step in the finishing process involves rotating the body at high speeds while thin strips of paint particles are layered using computer-controlled Thin-Film Multilayer Coating Technology, which produces the smooth graphite silver-colored look. Finally, a clear coat is applied for added durability and shininess based on the ambient lighting conditions."

Either way I'm stoked to have the options to shoot video and ultra high shutter speeds on my xt1 once the firmware is avalible.

I got an FStop Guru

It's going to be PERFECT for me.

It just fits my 5d2 body (ungripped) 17-40, fisheye, and 70-200 in the small shallow ICU.

It can fit my avy gear and skins, so i can finally bring a good camera kit into the backcountry and for inbounds pow days

And I don't have to carry my giant brick of a camera backpack around all the time

Just ordered a D750, super excited, I've been waiting for a semi pro nikon with expeed 4 since the 5300 came out

It seems pretty cool. Basically an upgraded D610. Better Autofocus, flipscreen, and 1080p60.

I found an Olympus Infinity Stylus for 4.99 at the thriftshop. Had a roll of Provia in it that had only 3 shots exposed... and a perfectly working battery...

Just found out that my school just signed an agreement with Adobe that includes free licensing for students.... This is the best news of my life.

A different kind of stoke but just contacted Alex Kane about using some of his music in a short of mine and he was super stoked about it, dude was way to cool about all of it. Stoked to see this world still has some solid people in it.

Canon stop my wallet hurts! In all seriousness, this lens sounds awesome.

Pretty sweet! I wish Canon would have come out with that one a long time ago. This, paired with a 50 is almost all you need. I loved the 24 f2.8 EF, but for 150 and even smaller, this would be rad for crop bodies. You can essentially get a great 2 prime setup now for 250 or less.

Picked up a canon SL1 body today, super stoked on that.

Gotta cop some lenses as well, but looking forward to shooting tons of stuff as a way to keep my brain intact after concussions.

I also picked up an SL1 recently, I actually really like the camera overall. Feels great in hand and Canon's touch interface is just such a nice feature to have. In other news, I'm planning on picking up some ND and Polarizing filters for my L glass, and also a couple of new grips/mounts too.

Apple's new time-lapse mode introduced with IOS is surprisingly decent, hardly any features but it works.

Except a sudden and extreme tsunami of these kind of videos:

thought about that the other day. really not stoked for that...

We don't have an antistoke thread and it was more a general observation.

Now when I think about it, I really don't care actually, time-lapse become boring four years ago on Vimeo anyway.
