Just picked up a 24mm f/2.8 Olympus F-Zuiko as well as an Olympus 50mm f/2 Macro. That second one has been so hard to find as of recently. Picked up an OM-EOS adapter and got to test the lenses out first thing at collegiate cycling nationals in Utah over the weekend.
It's pretty easy, I built a really basic html5 video player in an hour. But to make it look as good as Vimeo, and work as well as it is a fucking nightmare. And you still need to compress for the internet and you can't just host uncompressed video for streaming...
well, obviously not completely uncompressed, I'm not talking raw, but without having it compressed after you export it onto your pc? and oh right I never really realized it'd be a great deal more complicated than just creating a play button and embedding the video essentially haha.
lol vimeo is far from having their shit down packed, half the time the player doesn't even work and I feel like every three months there's another issue. There's a reason why youtube is much more successful.
This is true. I have had terrible luck with vimeo. I still use it (and pay for vimeo plus), but there are many bugs and issues that still have not been fixed
Is that a Retina IIIc or IIIC? Both are great, but the IIIC would probably my alltime favorite 'throw-it-in-your-bag-and-beat-the-hell-out-of-it' camera. Once it's closed up you can probably drive a truck over it without breaking.
Okay, this is getting fucking stupid. Just picked up a Canon AE-1. 10 bucks at goodwill!!! Finally get to use my dad's old FD glass again. Woo hoo!
(note, the AT1 was my dad's from the 70's. It's now a paperweight, as nothing works anymore/the T50 died on my while shooting in San Francisco last September - mid roll. haven't been able to use my glass again until now!)
Hey guys, I don't know any shit on camera, but I found an old AE-1 whit a 50mm lens, a tamron 80-210mm lens and another lens, and a old flash canon 188a. Does it worth anything? and could I start taking picture whit it and upgrade to a dslr later?
Just set up my workstation and have 3 client videos to edit in the next 7 days! Stoked on what the end results should be, but somewhat less stoked on the amount of sleep deprivation about to ensue..
stoke: it was a fucking awesome week. So many good friends, memories, and photos to remember the week by! Nice to meet you @landis, blatt, sklar, and whoever else I bumped into
Finished the first of three videos! Some cool tech overview in here about how live visuals are handled for these "Legendary Dance Parties" I have been shooting for GrooveBoston.
both stoked and nervous, I have my first big wedding weekend of the season coming up. A wedding saturday and sunday. Il be making 850$ just for filming, gotta love it!
Fomapan (rebranded as Arista EDU) is really great. Next time you could also order Arista Premium, which is rebranded Kodak Tri-X, a film I personally like better.
As Lawrence said: it's very contrasty. You could pull it a a third or half a stop for better results. Don't try pushing it, that's gonna give horrible results (I speak from experience). The shadows block up like a mofo.
