That's right ladies and gentlemen, the best day of skiing that you may or may not have attended on that fateful day in 2003 has returned.

The all skier comp, that all skiers want to compete in is back.

Located at the fine resort mountain of Manning Park, just east of Hope, Lord of the Park will be the shit. It's all about the good times, mint park, and crazy ass prizes. There may be a little after party that y'all might want to boogie on over to as well.

Shit is hitting the fan on FEBRUARY 25.

check out www.manningpark.com to learn more about our friendly hosts.

Manning has some rediculously sick gnarly rails, and an opportunity for a rediculously fucking huge jump. With their rails and my setting up, this will be an amazingly quality set up.

Seeing how I will basically be building this, and I'm such a good listener, tell me what is your dream rail set up?

The basic lay out will be a choice of 4 rails, into a smaller table or huge table option. One Rail, One Jump, Lots of Carnage.

peace

Brian

A flat down rail (15ft-25ft), an urban style down rail(35ft or so), a medium sized (20ft-20ft) up-down rail, and an up rail (30 ft or so) would be my choices for rails.

interesting. an up down eh?

definitely going to be a flat down. its either a 50 foot one thats 5 feet high that you may have seen in DTP, or a 20 ft one thats maybe 3 feet high, but it would have a nice step up gap onto it.

other choices they have are up rails, c rails, back to back banked c rails (like butterfly wings), 40 ft 5 ft high flat bar, 50 ft down flat down or flat up flat, nice hand rails, wall ride as big as whistlers, a million new boxes.

there will definitely be a box for beginners. as everyone is entering.

i like that up rail, and up/down rail suggestions. lets get original

brian tell them to make a jump at the begining liek that kicker one they had at hemlock when u had ur comp that jump was tight

^ I agree. Although the 'urban' influence is cool and trendy and challenging... it ends up being limiting and not as fun. Gaps are key... maybe a feature like the 2 funboxes together with a gap/drop in the middle as in Corey Vanular's section in shanghai six, but that you could also disaster. A channel gap table would also be good for a jump. And shaun, can I get a ride if you are going?

i think having a good 30-40ft. urban style down rail, going into a huge ass rainbow, or kink, into a decent 40ft. table...c-boxes after that, kink rail, another jump a bit bigger, then the wallride...that would be super flowy, bit of choice, and bit of everythign for everyone...

how far is manning from calgary by the way?? this gonna be worth the drive?

9 hours at the most to get there. i think it would be definitely worth it. huge bro down, sick fuckin prizes, cassssssssssh. basically the funnest times to be had

sounds pretty effin sweet to me...i think its cool you're looking to us for suggestions on the layout...hopefully it turns out any of the ways listed above cuz they all sick

yeah man. theres only a few people involved in this. and although we may have very disturbed minds, all you people who will be attending will probably be able to think of more creative things than us.

Set up the bigger flat box ( that's up right now with the 4 foot gap to it) with a gap to the Flat-Down box. That would result in sexchange city. do it do it do it.

Finish at the bottom with the wallride too. Doesn't have to be gigantically set up, something that's decent sized so everyone can throw down on it.

Much bigger than what whistler has right now, but smaller than what it was 2 years ago.

I'd be very VERY impressed if you could find a way to set up that wallride at the bottom without sacrificing putting a big kicker in... you could like, set it up at an angle on the flat... actually, no, i'd consider that to be the most impossible feat to accomplish ever, just because of how manning is laid out

no, don't sacrifice the bottom table, it's the only decent/natural landing, you're going to want to conserve snow by not having to build up any more landings than you have to...

true...maybe just leave that jump where it is for a true "showtime booter" type deal and have all the other stuff set up before it...maybe have a big kink rail option on the side of the last tables landing...

iv never been 2 manning but is the a chance of a step up....i dont think so but thatd be fun.....and yah dont sacrifice the bottom table 4 a qp....c mon.$$$$booter$$$$

the basic set up is the bottom booter will be there no matter what and it will be huge. then there will be a smaller one beside it. were talking an 80 ft + landing so it will be big.

where the second jump up is will be the rail section. 4 or 5 rails on that roller, big landing there too.

I was thinking of trying to get the wall ride put at the very bottom, basically against the trees (you know what im talking about laura), but that would cost a shit load of money to move.

so basically you guys get to design the rails section. there will only be one box, becuase i say fuck boxes, because boxes are for fucking not skiing. however one will be there for beginners.

what about a battle ship. theres many opportunities for those and they arent around much.

there needs to be a battleship brian, and you know it! so many possibilities with a battleship...

as for a wallride at the bottom, you should make it like the one they had at park city 2 years ago, it was like a 45 degree angle.. a lot more fun to hit

if its a more mellow and like 20-20-20 it would be SICK...GOTTA have a plain long downrail for sure, kink rail with liek a step-up gap or something...45 degree wallrides are soooooo lame...gotta have one thats almost vertical with jumps from both sides and a good ramp in front...as for the jumps...they sound DOPE

shit, that 80 foot jump comes back to life, i dunno about that thing it was fuckin massive lol. yes battleship!.... i'm relearning rails soon so i can go in ur comp.

no battleship. nonono.

i wont be there either, as i have a wedding in ottawa to attend(sorry b!)

but up gap to down instead. nobody uses the damn flat on a battleship, less its a super mellow battleship... but man seriously, up gap to down(like a good 10-15 foot gap). that would be the money. but with a suuuuper wide kicker so you can gap straight to the down if you wnated to. i forget who i was discussing this with on the chair. maybe pierro or kyle.. or derek.. or bailey.. but yeah you were sitting there not listening, ass. but have a nice landing on the down box if possible for possibility of up gap the down completely

like huge 270 over it all. oh yes...

It would be cool to stand a box on it's end and the end of the course, like a super skinny wallride or tree jib. Just like at the orage masters. It would be a lot cheaper, and require a lot less snow.

Excellent idea, if it can be done... but didn't they put that on a kind of QP thing at the masters? Seems to me you'd need a fairly long box to anchor it properly and still quite a bit of snow. But probably still way cheaper than the wallride.

the tree/box jib sounds dope as hell...sunshine is planning on doing something similar...setting up an 18ft long tree up...6ft of it in the snow, 12ft out...and the up gap down sounds hell dope especially if theres a side gap for doiung huge disaster lipslides n spinning on n shit

think they'll have that shit for the ygo?? also, do you know if the course for the ygo is gonna be open friday the 3rd?!?!?!

brian make it a double feature thing... like up box to like... snowbox flat( like a landing) to a down box... so you can hit both in a quick line, or gap... but its safer if you say its just a quick tranny for up box than down box... so like land a trick in tailpress and then like 270 off tails onto the down box funnnnnnnn. or gap if you're feelin cool. not dangerous anymore eh!

just an up box, followed by a down box.

sneaky sneaky but very doable for sure, would be sick...have an upbox to snow platform with like kink rail and down box/rail off of it...that would be sick

stevens has a boner ride as we call it, it sucks, but that's because they have a shitty small transition that goes straight into it instead of up. real wall rides are way more fun, but a down flat that is disaterable is necesary, though the flat needs to be big enough to get on and do switch ups.

This snow platform thing that everyone wants is stupid.

They had it last year at whistler and nothing good was even done on it. Stick with the battleship. Make a separate butter box if anything.

It would be sweet if you could get some kinda mini wall ride or boxx on top of a quarter pipe (remember how that went offf at hemlock)

TO BAD IT CAN'T BE AT HEMLOCK AGAIN BUT ATLEAST IT'S STILL GOING TO HAPPEN THIS YEAR SWEET!

IS THERE ANYWHERE TO STAY AT MANNING?

yeah dude it's all about doing it right, though. think of it more of an up box to down box. like a quick line. the snowbox part of it isn't important. its just and excuse to have an up gap to down box. battleships are pretty lame because theres so little variation compared to this. because this way you can have a ridiculous session of just tech tricks back to back as an up box than down box, with a huge dis in between!!! its insanity. if i cartooned out the image i have in my head for you, you'd agree.

So you want like 270 on, switchup, 450 off on the up box, ride the snow box caribou straight into 450 on, double switchup, 630 off the down box?

SUPER-DOOPER-UBER STEP UP/OVER.

BUILD IT 40FT HIGH, HAVE THE TABLE OF IT 20 FT LONG AND THE TAKEOFF 10FT BELOW. IT WILL BOOST YOU UP AND OVER...NOT MUCH LATERAL DISTANCE BUT THE UP/DOWN FACTOR WILL MAKE IT HUGE...
