I ride on a volkl step, which is identical in every way apart from that the step has carbon stringers (Ollie bands) running down the length of the ski. I fucking love my steps, they are my park only ski. They carve easily, the sintered base is super quick (assuming you wax it regularly) the rocker is just enough to handle soft or slushy snow, makes surface switch ups easier and is less hooky on lips than my previous full camber skis. The construction seems decent, after 4 weeks riding on them they have minimal top sheet chips, an edge ding through my own fault, minimal base damage, and a few small cuts into the sidewall from sharp edges while doing grabs. Coming to the different part, the flex. I really like the flex on the step, it is forgiving and relatively flexy but with enough rebound to make it lively, poppy and not a noodle to ride on, handles speed well without chatter (which is an issue with rockered buttery skis), so really it comes down to preference of flex if deciding between the step and the ledge. Personally I was looking for something that was 50/50 jumps/rails so the ledge was too soft for me for confidence hitting larger kickers. Hope this helps and gives you and option of a slightly stiffer, more lively ski, if that's what you want.
