Looking to buy Volkl Ledge next season. Anybody ride them?

I ride on a volkl step, which is identical in every way apart from that the step has carbon stringers (Ollie bands) running down the length of the ski. I fucking love my steps, they are my park only ski. They carve easily, the sintered base is super quick (assuming you wax it regularly) the rocker is just enough to handle soft or slushy snow, makes surface switch ups easier and is less hooky on lips than my previous full camber skis. The construction seems decent, after 4 weeks riding on them they have minimal top sheet chips, an edge ding through my own fault, minimal base damage, and a few small cuts into the sidewall from sharp edges while doing grabs. Coming to the different part, the flex. I really like the flex on the step, it is forgiving and relatively flexy but with enough rebound to make it lively, poppy and not a noodle to ride on, handles speed well without chatter (which is an issue with rockered buttery skis), so really it comes down to preference of flex if deciding between the step and the ledge. Personally I was looking for something that was 50/50 jumps/rails so the ledge was too soft for me for confidence hitting larger kickers. Hope this helps and gives you and option of a slightly stiffer, more lively ski, if that's what you want.

(Double post, whatever) oh yeah they are also light, so that combined with the true symmetry of the ski they make spinning really nice and balanced. The true symmetry also makes riding switch as easy as forward and I feel it has really helped my confidence in getting into switch tricks in general.

Im gonna jump in here, Im getting a hook up with volkl next season and I need to choose me park ski, all I want to know is will the step hold up well on larger park jumps? do you wash out and always have to land perfectly? please fill me in, I want to be able to spin hard on about a 50 footer maybe bigger if I get to travel around a bit more, (no big parks in my area). spin hard I mean if i were to cork 9 or 10 or try a double. how will I be? you got any videos?

The reason i bought the step was exactly for stepping up on bigger kickers and for me at 6ft and 155 I feel it's done that. Its definitely a medium flex ski which will forgive you for not landing perfect but has enough resistance to bring you back up without washing out so I would probably say its more of a progressive flex (even if it does sound like a hollow marketing phrase) and definitely recommend it for what you've said you're looking for. I would say if you're looking for a ski which can both handle spinning hard on bigger jumps and buttering (like you say on your profile) this is the best choice from volkl if you're of a similar build to me. As for videos I don't really have anything. I really struggle to get any sort of non-pov of myself.

However I do have friends who ride on the Wall and swear by the stability of it on landings so if you feel you're more of an aggressive skier then go for the wall.

thanks so much, ya I think Ill do fine I just wish they came in like a 182 although not far from 179, on jumps id notice the difference

it's a 179 with a park rocker so realistically rides like a 175 full camber but a cm or so give or take isnt a big deal. I'm sure you'll be fine.
