Looking for others who want to start freestyle content website.

OP is either:

1. Trolling

2. Having a manic episode from a heroic dose of mushrooms

3. Clinically autistic

4. Clinically autistic

5. ??????

6. Profit

Good luck getting A1 memes like that on YOUR website you traitor fuck.

When I saw the title of the thread I was actually interested. And I do like NS, but I would be a down for a website with more curated content (ex zootspace). It's kind of hard to keep up with all the stuff that gets posted on here and Instagram. I've actually thought about the idea of starting a website like this, but at as a passion probject rather than a money-making venture to compete with NS which would inevitably fail, imo. Insulting this community/website is not going to help your case. Also NS isnt dead and I'm tired of hearing that. Everyone is aware that traffic dropped off after Instagram took off in regard to ski content. But this website is still the best place for random like-minded skiers to talk, argue, criticize, support each other, and give advice.

That wasn't an App, that was their website, they did custom content for a bit along with currating videos.

SLAPP was the App, which was completely different, they had a really cool idea there too and unfortunately the timing didn't work out for them.

I never said it was, just forgot to initially clarify in first post. But yeah I agree the timing was off for sure. Ahead it felt like

So you’re interested?

Exactly, I first got into NS from the roofbox reviews, and stayed when I saw all the edits, trolling and other shit. If you're like me, who doesn't know anyone who skis in real life, NS is the only place where you can come too to ask questions, chat, or just have a laugh. I can honestly say that it's the main reason I got into park, and both my pairs of skis I bought off of recommendations on here.

This thread is now shark tank.

mr. Wonderful (eheath) is out.

mark Cuban is laughing at you

and I, Daymond John, have an offer:

I’ll write one article every two months for 20% stake in the company plus you get to access me as a industry consultant for 2 hours per quarter.

OP if you're serious [tag=55432]@-Dan[/tag] 's offer is a great start.

Also it's a hilarious meta joke that you are shit talking NS a bunch in the thread you made on here because you know it's the best place to find people that would even have an idea of what you're talking about or would potentially have an interest in what you're describing.

www.newschoolers.com gives you free access to all the most legendary ski content from the last 20 years, and the ability to communicate directly with others in this niche of skiing as well as pros and people who work for and own our favourite ski companies. NS makes revenue from ads, has provided people with grants to make new content and also pays people for content.

So you are either trolling or just don't get this site.

Fr I thought this was like a trying to find a crew of homies to shoot and was ready to offer to film.

Anyway, I’ve always got my canon dslr and GoPro on me and always down to film

Seething admins in denial their website is dead ???. Reality is OP, the market is not big enough and tiktok/Instagram skiing has taken over.

I knew dude was trolling but this 100% confirms it. No way he thinks were so stupid that we wouldn’t realize this is an alias

Even if you got it to work how would you get money to pay creators? You have no source of funding to even start the site. No sponsors, deals, anything. Empty claims.

Real talk tho [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag] is there a reason that you need an NS account to post / comment. I see videos with tens of thousands of views just getting 100 or 200 thumbs up, I feel like if we had the ability to sign in with google/Facebook etc. and create accounts on the fly the user base would get way bigger. Or just post anonymously, always wondered why the account was required

I'm a software engineer that spent years consulting with startups. If you pay me $420 per day, I'll help you. I have one request though - rather than skiing, the site needs to feature a discourse concerning puppies in hats.

Yo OP, Newschooler.com appears to be available to purchase?

Maybe you should buy that because you're clearly going to be the only person on your site.

If someone doesn't want to type a username, password and email, im not sure you're gonna get them to register in any other way. Users doesn't really define the page views, we don't get "less" page views because someone can't make an account, the answer is that there is no benefit either way, NS has always been a site with accounts so thats the way it is now.

FB used to be a way to register, but it seems like that got removed.

I don’t register for any websites anymore because I have a million accounts so if it doesn’t have the “sign in with google” option I just never make one. I feel like a lot of people are the same. Another password to remember and another account to keep track of, idk I can sympathize with people who browse but don’t wanna make an account, but it also holds them back from interacting

Generally speaking you do tend to see better numbers when offering a one click signup through Google/FB/Apple/etc.

Don't underestimate how lazy people are, no one wants to type-in 3 fields, it's much easier to get them to click on a single button.

Then once you have their contact, you can touch them again to bring them back/increase engagement, etc. so there's generally value to a one click signup flow, that's why you see it everywhere these days. But every audience is different, I'm sure if NS removed the FB button they had their reasons.

While I'm not involved with NS at all anymore, they have plenty of campaigns and strategies about gaining members etc getting more clicks isn't always the goal either, so I can't really speak on their current strats etc.

The way NS works now and has for awhile is that most of the core audience traffic comes from social media ref and then the money maker is the google traffic, the former likely has an account and the latter makes it like 2-3 pages in and leaves so I think NS' current system is fine.

Would ns videos/articles have a couple more comments with a one click sign up? Sure, but that low level engagement isn't generating traffic, if someone is so lazy they can't fill out 3 lines, maybe we don't want them on NS, know what im saying? If NS had an anon comment feature, we'd be deleting numerous posts a day, it would get very abused.

I don’t think you understand. This is a dead forum that offers no benefits to people who post in-depth content, nor is it remotely close to the type of website I described.

Writers and posters would be paid for content and it would offer a lot more all around. Let it goooo

No one accidentally finds Newschoolers when looking for ski content man. It doesn’t show up for any common or uncommon skiing questions when typed into Google. it’s an obscure forum that didn’t do enough during its prime to stay relevant.

I got 1.7k views on a edit because of this “dying sight” idk if you’ve seen 1700 people at once but that’s quite a bit for most people.

Why are you so upset brother? Good lord. The forum full of brain damaged skiiers is not a solid place for content.

If you’d ever like to guest post on my website just shoot me a DM and I’ll tell you how much the content is worth. Also, can I run ads on here?

Especially when you see YouTube views are sub 8k even on movies like Chargeur

nothing you read online about page views and other statistics are remotely accurate for any website, internal numbers are not available to the public.

IDK if you're trolling at this point, but NS is literally a freestyle skiing content website lol the forums are about 5% of the page views.

no trolling , heath is rattled by the truth like ALWAYS.

there is a need for NS ski website, because Evan heath takes money to ruin this current site. TRUTH.

does 360 media actually believe his bullshit manipulative jargon ?!?!

evan took from the ski industry and left it with cancer.

content creators should have gotten paid from the beginning, you should have never taken a dime, you cant even ski.

you need to log off, get a job, go on a diet, get out of your moms basement, and stay out of skiing.

What’s crazy is that chargeur had like 45k views in the first 24 hours on NS, and I just checked and ur right, it’s like 7.2k on YouTube.

Makes sense, unfortunately. It's easy to find a popular video on NS cuz it's either on the homepage or it's near the top of the video section. However, for YouTube, if you're not subscribed then u won't see the video come up in your feed. And most people on Instagram can't be bothered to click the link in bio..for example I just posted a video a few days ago and it got way more views, comments, upvotes/likes on NS than on YouTube.

[tag=286007]@WabbleDee[/tag] can you just agree that this was a troll thread. You gotta understand you're gonna get roasted for asking to make a website, on a website that is what you're describing. NS'er for life [tag=38820]@eheath[/tag]

Walks into google, guys we should have a search engine that can look up anything. It's different than google though ya feel?

Even being subscribed doesn’t help with the way YouTube’s algorithm works. It still thinks I want to watch Steepsteep reactions and ski addiction trampoline videos when I only subscribe to filmers and watch edits
