Look at my fucking shins

So I got back from a weekend of skiing, took off my ski socks and my skin came with them. It looks like the hairs are getting ripped out, which seems to be a pretty common problem. I didnt have this problem at all last year, and after day 1 of skiing my shins were fine, but on sunday they got fucked up. I have them same boots as last year (full tilts) just with a stiffer tongue this year, but I cant see how that would make a difference, and I wear good ski socks too, again same ones as last year. Sorry for the shitty pic, I dont have a good camera anymore, but I'm sure you get the point

How does one remedy this issue. Shaving legs? (there isnt much hair left to shave right now anyway), duct tape? Body glide?

It didnt hurt at all during the day skiing, I only realized it when I got home and took the socks off.

And before anyone says it, I know there are threads on this topic, but I searchbarred and couldnt really find them, so I made this one. ya'll searchbar fags can go jerk off together instead of posting it in here.

Um, are you not wearing your boots tight enough? I dont get how that would even happen.

nasty dude, i always lose the hair on my shins during the season, but never something like that thats just gnarly. maybe your sweating and it makes your socks stick to your shins?? i have no idea even that shouldnt take off skin

I crank my boots pretty much as tight as I can get them. And I'm basically he man, so thats pretty tight.

you read what I posted wrong, I didnt say I tighten them as tight as they go, I said I tighten them as tight as I can get them. They could be tighter, but then I would lose circulation.

They are not too big, if anything they are too small, I get toebang whenever I land backseat, but with size 15 feet thats expected.

MY shins look exactly the same, its not my socks its a little metal clip that is at the bottom of my pants. whenever i tighten my boots it fucking kills and i have to adjust to perfectly so it doesnt hurt- but no matter what i always have an open cut from all the friction

Kinda ironic i just shaved part of my shins cuz i was having the same problem this weekend but not that extreme i just find it uncomfortable after a while

never seen or even heard of anything like that happening.
you need to let that get as much air as possible and get polysporn on that shit to heal it up.
a scar is not as strong as skin, so unless that heals 100% you are going to have problems in the future...thats nuts man.
check the tounge of ur liner...maybe there is something wrong with them that are putting weird pressure points on ur shins, cause that should not be happening

snow wont go in your boots, they have an elastic thing that holds on tight to your boots, that metal clip is to clip to the boot.

You probably have a better chance of snow goign in your boots the way you have it, think of shingles on a roof. they overlap. Thats the point of the liner, to go OVER the boots lol. If they are tucked into the boots, the snow coudl still get in. (it might not, but why would you want a metal clip being forced against your legs?)

I already did check the liners, they are fine nothign there. The first thing I did when I got home was put bacitracin on it too.

It didnt exactly break the skin, it did go down to the deeper pinkish layers though (dermis?)

It kinda reminds me of a rug burn, but it doesnt really hurt liek one. The scab looking things are pus that is constantly seeping out (yum) and it dried. Its like a yellow looking liquid. It tastes kind of sweet and tangy.

Why the fuck would you keep doing that if you kept getting hurt by it? Jesus don't tuck your cuffs in.

That's crazy, maybe you should try putting the old tongue on (if you still have it) and see if it does it again. Is it the same liner as last year too?
The only other thing I can think of is did you overlap the liner the wrong way? I did that once and it hurt like a bitch.

take out the liners and see if part of the shell is poking into it. if it is, sand it down. if not i dont know what what to do.

I've done that before too, and I know it before I even start skiing, my feet get all cramped and hurt. I doubt I would do that for both feet and nto realize it.

and to eastcoast95 or whatever, the wraparound liner is double thick, for something to be poking through it it would have to be like an inch long, and on the tongue and I would most certainly recognize that. Its def just really bad chafing.

what kind of socks do you have...there are some socks made of bamboo fibers..and if that is what you have after a day of skiing your legs will be completely ripped up..my friend did a tour skiing and had normal socks on..then switched to bamboofiber socks..took his boots off at the end of the first day after usin other socks he had fine legs but the after a day of using the bamboo ones his legs were bleeding..if this sounds like your problem..check the material of the socks and switch them...

haha, really dude? the metal clip clips to the outside of your boot.

and to the OP, i had the same problem the first day i wore my full tilts but it wasnt nearly as bad and it went away after the first day. it was just the brand new liner and it ripped out my shin hairs.

I've had these boots since the middle of last season, the only difference is a new tongue this year.

Mybe its because I was unable to change my socks for day 2 and they had too much salt in them which caused extra friction

I shave that little strip of hair, i don't care it just gets worn away anyways if I don't. I have never seen it that bad though, are your heels moving out of the pocket when you try to put pressure into the boot?
good luck, boot problems are the worst thing in skiing.

maybe, wash you sock and see if that helps (since they're wool, let them air dry - it takes like 30 min to be dry for the most part). The other thing I though of is they there was a bunch up in the sock - but I'm guessing that it wouldn't happen with both legs - that would be one hell of a coincidence.

Well shaving might have helped prevent that I'm not really sure. Now you're probably going to wait for it to be fully (and I mean FULLY) healed before you have anything rubbing it again or it will just keep getting worse. Try using a blister stick or something greasy on your shins as well to reduce friction. Kinda gross but probably will be worth it in the long run.

is it itchy? it might be from ur shin constantly rubbing against ur tongue and causing your skin to chafe or something, i have no idea haha but that is messed up.

thats exactly what is happening.

it doesnt itch though.

Maybe once it heals if I shave + put duct tape over the scar to make it slippery?

The liner with the clip is supposed to go over the boot. It is elastic so snow won't get in. Fix it man, your suffering for no reason!

i don't think so, at least not from Lepromatous leprosy. it doesn't really start on your shins, it starts on your face, ears, wrists, elbows, knees, and buttocks.

i just put shins for jokes. could be scabies though. or some flesh eating solvent used to make the ski socks in some third world factory.

I had same kind of thingy in my pants, it didnt cut my shin up but it gave a incredible shinbang for the rest of the season... I just cut it off and sewed the liner back together

I dont think its a tongue issue, it think its just because its the beginning of the season.

I am goign to try the old ones, but I dont think its going to make a difference
