LINE WEBSITE WHAT??????

I've never really seen another company completely shut down their website, which is pretty much their face to the world, altogether. adding content doesn't require a complete shut down for days at a time. didn't they have enough money to pay for bandwidth?

i really want to buy line skis, but man, it's almost embarrassing how bad they are at handling their business. it's peak season for ski sales. why would you do that now?

final comment. topsheet = dick. if your skis' topsheets start tearing off and you are going to cry about it, please just stay home and keep them wrapped in plastic all winter. it does not affect the ski's performance in any way. that being said, i sincerely hope that line is adding something about this on their site. if they don't, they really are not in touch with the buzz surrounding their own products, and it's hard to keep coming up with new stuff that way.

10-4

i personally dont care...

1. because i have been loyal to line

2. because they are updating their site

3. because i think i could wait 24hrs to look at their website

toatally agree my shop dropped them and it sucks because i work there and dont get employee discounts on their stuff anymore which is why im not on lines this year. they only reason they dropped them was because they werent making good business decisions.

ya its real novel and heroic sounding to be like oooooh im gonna progress the sport, not the industry, but the industry is what people see and how you sell your skis and get people riding them. granted if you make a great ski you wont need much promoting, you will still at the very LEAST need to send your stuff to the shop that you have sold your stuff to. how do you think solomon makes shit for bindings and they still sell? they make sure thier stuff is in the shop first and is at the lowest price possible, which is what line was doing, but they did it a month before the season started. levinthal's fuck conformity attitude towards the skiing world got him where he is today by making radical skis, but he needs to stay on top of his products and the business sense of it all. simply making a good ski isn't all that you need and i hope he learns this quickly cuz i love line skis and hate watching shops drop them because of their business policies.

i bought fujatives cause the invaders hadn't shipped yet. But I really love my old 1260s. If they werent so short and ruined I'd keep using them.

Agreed, we don't carry any of the mens Line Skis anymore, just the mini invaders and the girls skis because they are underselling. It's no shot at Line because I like their skis..

Bad business decisions? You mean like completely selling their entire inventory this year? The majority of which sold before stores even had it. It sure is bad business to sell all your products. Ha. I love this "I work in some shithole ski shop, so I obviously know everything about the ski industry" attitude.

you try maintaining a website on your own, or maybe with a few people. it takes time, and anything major requires a shutdown. they don't exactly have an entire IT department...

wait last time i checked, half of newschoolers have there invaders falling apart...i know 3 ppl that have them, and all 3 of those ppl are having problems...i've only skied them once, and all the glue between the edge and the topsheet is completely gone...i've never seen this happen on any other skis...it doesnt seem like there product quality has been maintained for this season...probably the move to asia! if you ask me it doesnt seem like a quality product

actually i work in a nice shop but thats beside the point.

think about this before you say they arent making bad business decisions: they moved their entire source of production to asia a month before the season started, leaving shops without the inventory they ordered. so what if their skis have been sold? if they are relocating instead of making skis, then pretty much none of that matters.

Its a lot more than 24 hours. I have been trying to get on the site for about 3-4 days now. And it says only 24 hours. I agree...they could definitly be more professional about it.

I completely agree with everything this guy just said, as long as your still maxing out your production you can safely say that your doing something right. I find it funny to see all the line haters on this site jump on something as little as a current website shutdown like its the end of line. So when newschoolers shuts down its server for a day or less is that bad business too? I dont see anyone bitching and complaining about that too often.

to people complaining about topsheet...if it falls off it doesnt hurt the ski it just looks bad, the only thing thatll happen is the ski will turn a little yellowy, and if its just barely coming off a little apoxy can fix it

haha i think everyone has a pair of short and ruined 1260s lying around their house. I know mine are and im gonna make a chair out of em! haha

^^correction

actually they do sell there skis off of their site, you may knew that if you had actually looked at it

Actually, it was done right after SIA, last february. BUT, customs can be a bitch. Regardless though, unless you own a shop, not just work in one, you really have no business telling a company how they should work in the ski industry.

so i stand corrected. at least someone has the dignity to say it kindly and inform me of where im wrong than just calling me an idiot with no evidence.

im pretty low on the ski shop heirarchy and all i knew was my shop dropped them after this year because they put an order in and it still hasnt come. one of my friends that i work with who is well known in the industry had to pull a lot of strings to get a pair of this years mini invaders becasue my brother broke his lines last year, and the other shop carrying line this year still hasnt gotten their stuff and they are still doing business with line.

and in all seriousness, do you really think line will be reading this saying this kid knows what he's talking about we should listen to him? im just another ns hater...duh

ok fine, but why would u pay for them of their website when u can get em for cheap somewhere else

people are dumbasses, the topsheet isnt coming off, its like a weird layer around the topsheet, like a wrapper type thing, it wont hurt the ski!

no they arent, the invaders that are having problems have that plastic layer coming off, than the top sheet as u call it is like a similar material to a dollar bill, which will come off slowly after that

Everyonr hates on Line because their product is shit. Everyone either has or knows someone whos Lines are haggard peices of crap.

^yo my friend's top sheet really is coming off, i can see the core of the ski in some places, i will try to post a pic later but im at school right now...

you're dumb,i beat the shit outta my chronics and i haven't had a problem, i've been on them for 20 days already and no problems whatsoever, the only reason that people's skis fall apart is because they don't take care of them properly

check it out bitches

cut it off. and then leave it. if you want epoxy it so it stays down. theres enough fiberglass(around 2mm or so) under the graphics so you will not see the core unless u realy fucked it up ur just seeing clear fiberglass thats goin to the core.
