lines don't ski like regular skis, it's weird, i was used to skiing my salomon 720's and i tried the mike nick 142 and i was not even going all that fast and they were wobbeling like a crazy bastard. i also skied the ghetto blaster, whick i also despised because they don't ski normal, mabye it was because they are so short but i don't know. and just to add, the mike nicks i rode snapped like a week later and it wasn't even a bad landing or anything like that, cheap shit is what i think they are.

i don't know what everyone is talking about when they say that lines suck cause i bought a demo pair from them for 100$

rode them like hell for a whole year then the edge fell out in the tail i sent them back and they sent me next years so

yeah i guess if that sucks then lines does suck.

i have salomon 720s as well as line 153's and i love both pairs, i have also had volkls, dynastars, and multiple pairs of racing skis. i broke or sold everthing but my 720s and 153s. when i broke my lines, i sent them in and got new ones no problem. lines get squirelly when you go fast because their shape and construction are not designed for speed but for park, hense having a ruster tail from the back edge. I try to always have 2 pairs of skis (at least) that are meant for different things- there isn't much pow out here so i usually have park skis, all mountain skis and most of the time rock skis so then you don't have as many problems with misusing your skis.

i think that the 153's were just a weak model because everyone i know that has them (including me) have broken or delamed them at least once.

but i still love them.

I absolutly hated my line 1260's i had them for a month and had to get new skis because i couldn't handle riding such a shitty ski. It would wobble on the way down to get the the park. Now thats just retarded to make such a terrible ski.

 
^^^maybe you can't ski worth shit adn you can't keep your skis straight. line kicks and ive never had any problems with their skis.

on the new 1260's i feel like the tip/tails are turned up so much that you lose a some sidecut......the edges dont make contact with the snow for like 5 inches each side...

 
I had the 153's, broke me, and so far i havnet gotten them replaced. I might be getting a demo pair, if this guy gets back to me.

anything that supports the movement is awesome...... but there are alot better skis out there then Lines, but i still like riding them..... the old orange 1260s were butter on rails in my opinion

yeah its wonderful they are helping the new freeskiing movement but their skis are pretty bad in reality. They are soft, the tails and tips do take away from the sidecut. they are basically just meant for park skiing. Put it this way: I have a friend who does not ski park every, only the backcountry and he races like a motherfucker. Winning lots of USSA comps and shit. Anyway, he did not even know what the hell Line was, hadnt really heard of them before except seeing them on the shelves at shops. I demoed a pair at our mt..I think they were the Skogens or the Darksides, and let him take some runs on them. Basically he said they were the worst ski he had ever ridden. Soft..way too flexible, not able to hold a turn, wobbly at high speeds, washed out too easily, etc. Good for the park if you dont any real skiing, bad for real skiing.

 
yeah i can agree with that.... line skis are for the park... but look at what pollard is doing with them, hes taking them to a total different element...... Now, what if he was to throw on a pair of lets say seth pistols, do u think his style would change? cause lets face it, the pistols are better then any mo ships, darksides, etc.... I think anyone can addapt to a pair of skis after a while, especially if they dont know anything else, or are sponsered by that company then they have no choice

well, line is a fairly new company compared to salomon or atomic so they still have some stuff to learn. now if you wanna see evolution in process check out the 1080. they had a first base model and worked up from there. now they have kickin ski. like most ski companies, hopefully ,line will learn upon their mistakes and get better every year. but then again its all about personal choice....... and big words.

I used the first model 1260s for a whole season at Kicking Horse - there is no park. I was still able to do anything I wanted in powder, except for, ill admit when it snowed a metre one time, then it was a little tricky. Other than that straightlining or high speed pow turns were still easily doable. Point is, maybe its not teh skis but the skier on them. Ive had those skis for 4 years at least now and they still live. Now im on the Mike Nicks and they are, admittidley better, and not too soft, they work for everthing.

Yes their binding was a disaster, I broke 3 pairs in three weeks. No questions asked they replace them or refund. At least LINE is trying to do something new and keep pushing the industry. Unfortunately, as in anything, new ideas dont always work as planned.

So basically LINE is good, whether you like it or not.

i think the pollard pro model is one of the best skis for drops jumps and charging -line is a sick ski company they are totally dedicated to the progressing the sport armada just came in 2nd

lines are nice, just like every other ski. it's all prefrence, and what you enjoy skiing the most.

okay, dont even compare Line to atomic, atomic is a racing company with one good rider. Line makes sweet stuf, its jsut difrent, its not meant for a 150 pund guy, it is an alternative for light guys like me. and my 153's held up well, I put a gash on them clipping a rock face on cliff, and eventually took the edge off on a rail.

And the kid who said his racer friend said ther the worst ski he has ever skied on, ummm hmmmm, maybe think about that for awhile.

Line is all about the progression of skier in the park, thats it. they are not ment to hold turns for a racer, never have never will. Line is the ONLY company that is progressing our sport. Sure you may say armada or 4frnt are rider owned to but have they done anything for our sport yet, NO. Line has been there from the start trying to make our sport better. boots sucked back then so line made their own boot. bindings suck today so line is working on making the best binding on the market. they have the most veriety in twin tips aviable. and ive never heard of them not accepting a warrenty. they are there to progress our sport and make it better, sure they know there skis may not be the best but they are working on it, and they are offering a great warrenty to make up for it. so we need to support them

i almost killed my line today because there were lots of rocks and dirt spots and it sucked but at least i get to ski

i'll just use my 720s tomorrow- they are my poopie skis.
