I created a thread today highlighting a video created by members showing how bad liberty skis are. He showed off the delam tip and then flexed the ski. The ski is so weak that he was able to break it twice without any tools.

The reason I bring it up is not to say liberty sucks, which they do, but to show that the video along with my thread was quickly deleted. Even though Liberty is a sponsor of the site, I think it is the right of the newschoolers community to know if a product is shit. They only reason there is a site is the people the view it religiously because they love to talk and see skiing. The mods should not control our speech when a product as terriable as that is on the market.

We should be able to talk as much shit as we want, expically when we have video evidence to back us up.

Make your voice heard, if everyone made a thread demanding the video be reposted they cant delete them all.

The quality of Liberty shall be exposed!!!!
 
It's pathetic that this video keeps getting deleted.

I saved it and will post it to other skier sites. Although it's common knowledge in Europe that Liberty skis suck ass.
 
i have to agree with you man. It's a prety sad day when poor products exist and people are kept in the dark (especially if its for the sake of someone elses financial gain). I have no more need to bite my tounge. But hey, what do i know..
 
that kinda dumb becasue it all depends on what skis he uses what his weight was, was he using them to ski were they a recomended and so on, of course the mods and stuff are going to delete a thread that bashes one of their sponsers, thats the dumbest thingi have ever heard
 
just a plain unmounted ski, and he snaped it in half, no major impact, on rail, just a guy and a ski. Correct me if Im worng but a ski should withstand a little bit of force.

Just watch the video and then you can attempt to formulate an opionion

Before I bought my first pair of Rossis the store owner folded it in half and back and it didn't break (figure of speech). It's fucking hard to break a ski.

If Liberty is a sponsor then maybe NS should give Liberty the opportunity to respond to this. Leaving people in the dark is not the way to go.
 
I don't know what fantasy world you people are living in but for a first year company its very hard to get it right the first time. Last years ski (which they were) had problems, yes everyone knows that. Same thing with the invaders, new ski, new factory, inexperienced people making them. It does not reflect on the company itself. Liberty is a great company and if that ever happend to you while you were skiing they would replace it. They have the best warranty in the business, 3 years. I myself am planning on getting a pair of Libertys next season. For you people who hate its too bad you don't understand.

There is no need to censor this or that video. There is no need to hide things to get people to think a certain way.

don't even try to say the new ones are any better...i've seen them break just as much as the old ones. and same with the KGB's, i saw a pair break in TWO days of a kid riding on them.
 
You have no clue my friend. Liberty recalled all those old model Stealths (2 year old spec, btw) and tried to contact everyone that bought them to replace them with the new Stealths which are 100% more reliable. Obviously, they lost a shitload of money on that process, but you live and learn and part of owning a company is trial and error. Just like homie said...check out the new KGB's.
 
I think the video was stupid because it showed a beat to shit pair being broken...

I didn't delete it though.
 
also, as for your whole showing that us mods are against you and are trying to ruin everything you kids do to have fun...eat a dick. one mod deleted something, maybe an admin, doesn't reflect on the rest of us, so go fuck yourself for assuming all that shit.
 
those skis were riden on FIVE times...so they were hardly beat to normal standards.

and the new skis still suck, i've seen just as many of those break as the old ones in just as retarded ways.
 
relatively new skis are hard to break, my teneighties are a few years old and pretty beat, i dont think i could break them with my bear hands too
 
Ok, I watched the video for the nanosecond that it was up. I used to own that pair of skis (2 and a half years ago).

They broke in half. They sucked. Liberty explained what had happened with their production and replaced them no question with new ones (white). They are great - I am still on them.

The shop where I work sent me to Vegas for the ski show there, and the new skis are amazing, especially the Cnote. I also heard that Larose is making a new ski for that team. KGBs arent bad either, from the looks (I saw in person) and from feedback that I have gotten from sponsored kids.

SO:

Did that old ski suck? Yes

Do the new Libertys suck? No

Does it matter that you can break a 2.5 year old ski that was recalled? No

Did half of the YGO kids win on Libertys? Yes

Did they break? No

Does Liberty have guys doing switch 1440 tails on their product? Freeskier says yes

What company do I think has the best customer service in ski-dom? Liberty

Do they have the best products? Not yet

Are they improving phenomenally every year? So far

Do they take shit from all of us and keep coming back to try to get better? Yes

Did they make a shit ass ski that broke? Yes (I bought it)

Are the new skis like 1000times better? Yes

Do you have to give a shit about what I say? No

Do I have to have a place to say it? Yes

Anything else to say? No.
 
if someone will give me one of this years libertys i am positive i will be able to break it as well. When u just flex the ski normally you can hear the core cracking. I checked it today at vtopen with the new ones. I am positive i could break them just as easy. It really doesnt matter tho, that video was really funny and its pretty homo that they deleted it if u ask me. If liberty has made such massive improvements in this years skis than they wouldnt mind us messing around with those old ones so i see no reason to have it deleted.
 
actually....walker and lil jon had broken likke 6 pairs each before winning YGO. they still suck and break.
 
You obviously don't live in the U.S. or you haven't completed the 7th grade yet, because you would understand, even it was in the most general terms, how a business works. If you have to recall a product, usually it's because it's unsafe, wasn't made to spec or something was discovered after the fact about the construction, in this case safety being the key issue and bad/faulty construction being the cause. Why would they let people "mess" around with the old ones if they are liable (and could end up with mad lawsuites) for what happens to those people. And why would they replace the ski if they didn't feel that the new ones were 100% more reliable than the old? As far as you "hearing the core crack" when you bend a ski...well, if you hadn't noticed by now, EVERY ski makes noises if you bend it to extreme measures....it has to do with the same principles used so that the ski DOESN'T break, depending what the core is made out of...skis aren't made to break, they are made to wear out over time, but just like any other product, you will have extreme exceptions. If you would be so kind as to point me in the direction of the video where any of the new models are broken, I would appreciate it. Until then, stfu.
 
Then why don't they get new sponsors? And these kids ride super hard, of course they are exceptions to the rules. Plus, Liberty is 4 years old...you are an asshole for dogging a BRAND new company, that really supports your sport I might add, just because they are going through the trial and error phase.
 
When I first got my ar5's I flexed them, heard something cracking so I stopped. Before then I had broken a pair of first gen ar5's. New company=not the best first product. Why do you not get that?
 
^^ Yeah, those are indeed my opinions, but I see more skis than probably all of you. I can assure you that kids come into the shop with broken skis from ALL brands, especially Line, Armada, and Rossignol. Yup, Libertys come back too, but we have never had a hassle with the company, who replaces them immediately. If you don't like them, don't buy them. I love mine and have had no problems whatsoever after they replaced the one from the bad batch.

I agree with the guy above - these guys are trying to help our sport by giving a choice. Same with 4F and 9W and a lot of the otehr new indies. We should be happy that they care enough to keep improving, and are smart enough to ignore nonsense like this thread.

You go work in a shop and deal with asshole companies that don't care about their riders, and then please post your opinion.

Maybe some should make a video about how many pairs of K2 skis get broken and delamed every year... I have destroyed 3 pairs of k2 skis. 2 full delams edges poping out everything, or how about 4frnt's a apparntly super sick company there stl's falling apart left right and center... salomon athletes still have to put rivets in there tips.... and how many foam cores have you seen not break? Dynastar.... haha let's not even go there. Line invaders falling apart faster then you can say "what the..", the almighty armada.... ar5 delam what? rossi ... i have seen the inside of those skis too!

My point?

All skis break, and no ski should be judged on it's prevouis model. People fix problems, and skis will continue to break, and all companies are obligated to have a proper representation of there company.

Im not sure who deleted the video, but im glad they did.

he's pissed because he works hard to maintain and promote this site and it's sponsors and their are kids like this thread starter that just won't back the fuck off...it gets super annoying when you have to deal with it every single day, all day long....
 
wow man chill out. i thought that that video was funny ive always wanted to straight up break some skis before, it doesnt matter that they were libertys or not. that was fun and funny.
 
I never said that the mods were trying to ruin my fun. I was just making the point that newschools should not be sensored just because a company gives you money. Its really an ethical issue.

Melves, fuck you for thinking this is a personal attack on the mods. This had nothing to do with you or your ego.

On a side note, the fact that the skis broke is understandable considering it is a new company. But the video should stay on. Liberty can argue or explain their situation. I bet they could even get a story on the main page with all that money.

The people of NS should get both sides of a story. That was the whole point of the thread, not to argue about Liberty.

I has nothing to do with sensoring anything...Liberty hasn't produced that ski in almost 2 years now...there is no relevance to the video anymore...why would NS want it anywhere near the site? Even if they weren't affiliated with Liberty.. So, if other words, you want people to be informed about a oldass scrapped product that isn't produced anymore...makes sense to me!
 
First of all it is not an ethical issue, its business. Second you are now attacking him personally. Third, this is not a government and it is a free website, which is also based in Canada. If you don't like how things are done then leave. Its that fucking simple.

If he doesn't like how something is done, he doesnt have to "leave", he has a right to voice his opinion. Obviously, being a private site, the powers that be dont have to agree with it, but he still has the right...
 
You're right, except about Dynastars. The new ones, I'm fairly sure that no pro rider has broken the Big Troubles yet. K2 skis do break super easy though. I went through 3 pairs in the 05-06 season.

Secondly, it is not defamation if I have proof to back up my claims, which I do, a video. No on is debating the fact that they are an old ski. But that old ski sucks balls.

Liberty could take legal action towards me but no way in hell will they win.

Lastly, the whole point of the thread that a video was deleted. I could of been of myself taking a poo, that fact it is was taken off and shouldnt of. It just so happened to be Liberty and a shitty product.
