I'm in a third world country right now. If you drink the water you'll get sick. There is raw sewage coming out of manholes and no one gives a fuck. In fact , I've seen about 7 missing manholes in the streets just in this one town.There are no trash Cans, the ocean and beaches have plastic and Styrofoam all over them, though there are many perfect Beaches here too
Haven't seen or heard. a single ambulance or firetruck in 34 days.No emissions laws =shit air quality in town. Retail stores sell shit Chinese BS. people live in cinder block Buildings with no windows,only shutters. Kids sell shit out of plastic bags while to you while you eat in restraunts. Stray,though very friendly and lovable, wild dogs roam everywhere with limps and scars and horrible injuries....no one gives a fuck. They find out you speak English here they try to fuuuuuuck you out of money. 7 dollars for a fucking coconut if your a nice trusting American and don't know why your monopoly pesos are really worth. Anyone of you little bit he's think you really hate American go take a peak of how the Majority of the world lives and then see if you keep Bitching. THEY CAN'T AFFORD WINDOWS AND I HAVE A $700 MINI COMPUTER IN MY POCKET. If you haven't felt that, you don't know a single fucking thing about what you little skier snobs have.
Having said that, aside from a few of my own Bitchy American things that I see as neglect or irregular these people are generally happy and wonderful helpful people.The Dominican Republic is an interesting place.

Most of urban Africa has access to cell service with data. It may not be LTE, or even 3G, but you would be surprised by the number of internet capable phones in the slum towns surrounding Cape Town, Jo-berg, Freetown, Narobi, Lagos, Mogadishu, etc.
Africa needs better roads before it needs anything else right now. a set of fucking windows ain't gonna change the fucking world.
The same is true for most of the underdeveloped and developing world. Small tablet sized computers are even relatively common in North Korea. They don't exactly have access to the googles, but they do have them.

If you're really this shocked by seeing this sort of thing in the DR, I suggest you see more of the world. And if you're trying to not get fucked over, don't act like a tourist and buy a coconut. Take it from a tree and split it yourself for free. Be a traveler and live amongst these people and their culture, rather than be a tourist and simply observe and then relay it on a ski website.

Bruh you should've seen Haiti. I was there two years ago on a missions trip and it's like you say but even more with the earthquake they were hit with. Crumbled buildings, stairways standing by themselves going up into empty air, and don't even call the road you're walking on a "road". And I was there three years after the quake. It's the most humbling experience I have ever had. To explain the conditions that Haitians live in would be impossible.
If you live in a first world country, be thankful.
