LETS ALL HOP BACK ON THE WALLISCH TRAIN

from his runs at park city to his winning run hes clean as fuck and quiet about it, he's having fun and therefore hes winning, definitely getting on the train cause hes a good pure fucking skier.

Edits yes...Back when 4bi9 was getting big "wallisch and goblin for president" those were the days. Now everbody has a good filmer/editor/riders. He may still dominate comps but i have 100% no interest in that.

thats like saying "lets see a racer do a cork 10." different athletes excel at different types of skiing

Tom Wallisch is not a human... he's evidently from a different planet that has different rules on gravity.

I've said it 100 times. A lot of the top park skiers aren't completely incompetent out of the park. I'm willing to bet Tom could ski an AK spine better than anyone on this site.

Oh shit thats right. Wallisch doesn't spend a majority of his time shredding big mountain lines so that makes him a terrible skier.

And i thought NS was total anti hipster...

nice try with the global warming argument. you just proved many scientists points about ignorance regarding the topic of climate change. weather and our climates are becoming highly variable and are harder to predict than ever before. severe weather changes over the long term are becoming more erratic therefore the fact that snow is becoming increasingly inconsistant is exactly what scientists are trying to convey to the general public, too bad 95% of people (prob more) cannot interpret academic papers or have access to these papers and actually gain a knowledgeable base on a subject.

Haha, wrong thread to nitpick that subject.

He wasn't making an argument, he was emphasizing how easy it is to sway the general consensus of a populus, in this case skiing's trend whores and hype train robbers.

That was so god damn smooth... He's gone from afterbangin' to landing so lightly it's hard to tell when his skis hit the snow.. Dayumn T-Wall!

yeah, i agree with this. i find it hard to believe that somebody with the awareness and balance to put together a flawless park run with spinning both ways and double flips that an ak spine or any type of terrain would be no problem. the kid can ski, period.

Exactly this!! When the times right, and if he chooses too,,key word "chooses" , Tom could take Big Mtn. to a whole nother level.

I definitely agree with this sentiment, being that Tom Wallisch is just a flat out amazing skier. You can see how on point his edge control is, and how on top of his skis he is at all times.

I would say though that BC skiing, big lines, etc. require more than just incredible ski technique; and that's experience. Lots of it. Sooo, I agree 100% that if Tom devoted time and energy to learning to read snow pack, terrain, etc. he could absolutely ski some incredibly scary lines, and even now, he—like Rich said— could outski pretty much everyone on this site on any sort of terrain in any condition.

All these people who think that Tom, and many of the other top park guys, can't do anything but spin and slide rails are fucking morons.

Came back on NS, just to say condescending statements like you always do and have people mistake that for you having some sort of preternatural intelligence?

That being said, MaryO is right, it is if he "chooses". Best and easiest example that comes to mind is Tanner Hall. Once the epitome of park&pipe slayer, and now he is one of the funnest big mountain skiers to watch and that is simply because he chose to devote more time to that area of skiing.

I don't think it was condescending at all.

I just think it's irrelevant to argue what someone else could or could not possibly do - for both parties against or for his AK spine mastery.

i know this may be considered blasphemy around these parts, but why does everyone like bpaul so much? he doesnt seem like that great of a rider, and many people are steezier
