so i was skimming through the radio in the car and i stop on some public broadcasting in the middle of the news, they said that some polititions or somthn were goin to start a legalizing campaign because of the millions of doillars the government spends on enforcing illegal pot laws. this is what we need, some important people who want pot legalized. i only heard the end of the report though. i just dont understand why its illegal anyway. they talk about shit like its the gateway drug, only reason it is the gateway drug is because its illegal and some ppl have to go to hard drug dealers to get some.

it wont happen anytime in the near future and this is the reason: the people in the senate now are either pre-hippy time people or post-hippy people who hate hippies either way. when our generation gets to the the house and to congress and to the supreme court there is definately a chance of it becoming legal, but not really until then.

our society does not have the ability to hold up to the sort of wide spread moral and social decay that would be brought forth with the legalization of marajuana. I don't have the time to go into the details, but trust me, it would definitely be for the worst. Actually, one example before I go, medicare and welfare and other social reform programs. We would see an increase in the costs of implementation for these that would be so high, taxes would be through the roof. Stock market would subsequently plumet and generally all hell would break loose.

For the next ten years at LEAST there will be absolutely no way pot will be legalized, there have been pro pot coalitions going on for a long time already, and here we are no where closer to legalizing it.

how would it hurt the economy, does alcahol effect the economy greatly? it will just gives some farmers good work. if they sell alcahol why not weed, weed is safer, and u dont even get as fuked up as u usually would drinking. and hell holland is doing great. when they legalized pot crime significantly went down. its not like everyone is gonna be bustn out some pot 24/7 walkn down the sidewalk like someone would be smokn a worthless cig. cmon seriously now, any reason u give for pot being illegal i can turn back on it... try me.

Um, I like the point above, cept i dont agree with the 'holland doesn't have problems'.....

Holland is one of the most fucked up countries, in a drug sense. The city of Amsterdam has had a HUGE influx of heroine addicts and a HUGE loss of jobs since they legalized pot, mainstream and a HUGE increase in the amounts of robberies/crime in general. Other than that, yeah, holland's doin great since they legalized pot. Yay.

But for real, legalizing pot is a bad idea for the US. Economically it would be a disaster, people would lose motivation to work and would just want to smoke pot all day and not give a fuck about work, which is most people i know, but anyway, u get my point.

I have nothin against smokin the reefer/dank/bud/pot/cannibus/weed/grass/mary jane/ganja/marijuana I just wouldnt vote to legalize it.

-caffine is more addicting then pot

-no one has ever directly died from pot

-its more dangerous to asperin then smoke 3 grams of pot

they could require a licence, so if u r selln pot without a licence then u r in jail, just like a liqor licence or tobacco licence. and then u will have to pay taxes. it would be easier to be goin to the store and buyn pot than goin to a drug dealer.

Full legality is ever going to happen I think. The government are too far up their own asses to change a law that they've stood behind for so long.

What I could see happening though is that personal possession will be decriminalised - you'd get a warning and maybe the pot taken from you if you're caught with less than say, an ounce. This approach has been trialed in parts of the UK (government called it the 'softly softly' scheme), claiming that it frees up police time if they don't have to make arrests and do paperwork just for catching someone with small amounts.

howard dean said if elected president he will put marijuana through harsh testing with the FDA and find out if there are medical uses for it...i don't think marijuana will ever be legal to the general public because there are too many hardcore suporters against it and soo many supporters for it...also it does have some health issues involved and if you dont believe me come and talk to my dad. he smoked for about 6 years as a casual thing. he went to a doctor and hehas a seriouis memory loss problem where he has to write almost everything down and the doctor said it was mainly caused by his smoking...

It is legal to do it, have possession of, and grow marijuana. But, it still has to be privatly sold. There can be no businesses or stores selling over the counter, unless grown in the store, that is not a chain.

Sorry suckers, but weed actually is 100% legal for me in california!! I have a docters recomendation to smoke dank, and grow plants. I can get in my car, drive 5 mins to the local cannabis club, and choose from 40+ types of weed and hash plus other goodies to get me high. Maybe pick up some tainted brownies or rice crispie treats while I'm there. And if I'm anxious to try the new bud, they have plenty of bongs, pipes, papers and blunts wraps for me to use, and hella couches to chill. I can also buy plants there too. And if a cop ever tries to steal my dank, I simply show him my card and tell him I'm a patient. There are also about 10 more cannabis clubs all clustered in a within a few blocks down in 'Oaksterdam' about 15 mins away. and about 15 more clubs in northern cali.

OK ask answer me this, why would you want it legal. its better for everyone to keep it illegal. if it was legal it would be harder to get (Expecially if you are under age). i mean right now, you can literally walk the streets or go through a hallway at school and ask people and someone will sell it to you. if it was legal then there would be so many laws regulating it, it would just be a bitch to get ahold of. i rather keep it illegal because it control...

1. the quality would become shitty because of other people trying to make a profit

2. dank would increase in price because it would be harder to find becaues of the control of the government and all the taxes.

3. I dont want the damn government controling my bud, they already control enough of our lives

keep cannabis out of the government and just relax the laws. Just like canada is working on

pot is never gonna be hard to find or expensive just becuase it is so easy to produce in your own home. u can also make ur own booze easyly but it will taste like shit.
