its there park colors man, yellow.. jsut like back in the day all the mammoth stuff was pink.. or all dagmars stuff is .. well.. thats not a good example.
 
thats should be an intersting feature.. see how many people actually hit it and can actually ride it properly if its that big

i think its rediculous.. i really doubt anyone will be able to ride it properly, as most of use have never/ hardly ever ridden a wall ride in our life, yet a full mammoth sized one.. its clearly a marketing feature, i doubt it will be maintained or set up right, and even if you bomb from the top its still going to be hard to find the speed as well as the balls to get to the copeing of that thing.
 
i can understand all of your thought on this, but i think your all looking at it in the wrong way, saying its to big, and that no one will hit it properly, well obviuously if uv neverhit a wallride b4 ur not gonna do it properly, same as any other feature in the park, or any thing else in life, i think its a way to progress the ontario skills, if u think somethio big, or something could never be hit, u definitly have the wrong attitude, goptta get creative, and think of ways to do stuff different, thats how we excell, this is something different and raising the bar for skill level
 
I think a wallride is a great idea and its awsome somewhere here will get one. The issue is the siz in relation to the hill. Perhaps a smaller wallride would be more appropriate seeing as you can acually hit some of the other features on you run and still have enough speed to jib the wall.
 
ah man that's so sick.. kirby was suppose to get one.. but they let us down lol. def hitting up lakeridge way more this year.. ill attempt it =|
 
its a great idea...a lot people are saying that not many people will use this feature and that its kind if a waste...i must diagree and say that when you have a feature like this...people will use it and get better at it...people using this feature may not be the best at it right from the begining...but they will get good..and the feature will be worth the time and money...who will be the first to grease the top of it? who will be the first to slide it while spinning?...
 
its impossible.

i took a kid from my physics/calculous class up to the hill today acutally to prove you wrong. We determined the adv slope of the run, and then the height of the wall at the base of the run, and through pages umong pages of work, he determined that the maximum velocity the adv skier wieghing 175 lbs at the very bottom the hill would not be accelerating at a fast enough speed required to reach the top of the wall (Assuming lakeridge does build it to mammoths walls measurements).. and i mean this kid took wind into to factor.. gravity.. everything.. it was rediculous.. and it ended up the farthest up the wall in the best possible solution someone could get was 86% .. thats assuming you are going to be tucking from top to bottom with no wind resistance.. so..all i have to say is best of luck.
 
did he take into account the varying friction co-efficients of snow. It does vary over a very large range, and machine groomed snow is ging to differer from stock figures. Also, where did he find this information for snow on p-tex? This would be a very obscure figure to find. You would have to gather your own data experimentally to determine this. I don't think he has the resources to come to a conclusion about that.

Buuuut, anyhow. I'd be impresse to see a large wallride around here, but id be willing to put down money that it will be a lot smaller than your expecting.

 
you had to see this man.. it was rediculous.. words cannot describe.

using data from theweathernetwork.com he determined the adv temp durring a season at lakeridge (day and night) is -8 degrees C. He then used the denisy of both snow and p-tex at that temperature, .. like.. you have no idea how rediculous this was. he asked me to write down a number for him for his calculations, and he told me the number to 8 decimal places, but when i wrote it down i only wrote 7 decimal places, and he LOST it on me.. hes like "now it wont be precise, thanks alot, now i have to re calculate that" , long story short no one is getting to the top of this wall.
 
haha dude thats bullshit. Math doesent determine everything. You could have mad pop to get up there or know how to pump the tranny. You cant just say something bold.
 
AVERAGE temp is -8, well if the temp is different then it might be possible. Not to mention ski wax, base materials, pole pushing yourself faster down the hill...lots of varibles.

I have never seen lakeridge in person, so im not sure the slope or hight of the hill...but im guessing from what you gusy say its going to take perfect conditions and bombing it from the top to get up there.
 
horshoe got a wallride. it was up for like 2 weeks last season and all the other times they had it roped off. i had to spend about an hour fixing it every time i wanted to hit it. and i still never made it to the top.

the slide part of it was made of 4 squares that came to a point in the center-perfect for catching an edge on.
 
i think mauii was the only person who was able to detect my sarcasm..

i believe it is possible to be done, but i just dont think we have the skill to achieve it..
 
well i hate to bring this stupid topic to the top, but it is definitly possible to get to the top of a 20ft wall ride with a 100ft inrun @ 15 degrees by my calculations... i didnt even include the fact that you could use your poles to accelerate faster as well as the "pumping" action and i think i was being generous with the 15 degree slope angle (ive never been to lakeridges park in about 5 years). soooo.. it is possible (on a nice day i.e. not a snow storm). however i still sthink its stupid because this feature will be a one hit deal if you want to be able to air off it.
 
30 feet? is that some kind of sick tasteless joke? and is the hill even 60 ft wide? (joke) haha oh my god.
 
go stand outside your house. the height from the ground to the cieling of the second floor is 17.5 feet. Now double that, minus 5 feet = uuhh..good luck with that.
 
do yourselves a favour (lakeridge) and scale the wallride down. it will save you money AND people will have more fun; which will inturn make you more money.
 
ill put a $50 bill at the top of that bad boy at the beginning of the season and feel confident that at the end of the year, no one will have taken it
 
ill walk up the ladder at the back and take it.

who am i kidding? there will be no ladder to get to the top, this thing will be made like junk.
 
of course it would get taken....its 30 feet... take that shitty flat box at dagmar stand it up straight, thats how tall it is. It's going to be /has to be set up on a big quarter pipe style setup, and a good portion of it will be buried, to keep it 1.) in the ground and 2.) so the snow doesnt errode away so your skis can get under it...

Put your $50 up there it will last until i get there and take it.

It's just going to take a bit of balls... I think it's a great idea - the bigger the better, and give props to lakeridge for stepping it up and setting the bar higher. On that note, Dagmar will still be more fun.
