Kreation Vs. Booters

I have technicas which i got shin bang like mad in and grew out of so i need a new boot. which is a better quality boot? which one has better padding for less shin bang? I currently weigh 117 lbs so i want a soft boot.

btw i can get the kreation for 75 used or booter 200 new, and price does matter but whatever will work best ill get. also, lets just say i can get both of the boots to fit well so there isnt a million comments about a boot fitter.

i said "lets just say." no i have not tried on either because there is no dealers of either in my whole state. i will try and find a place to try them on, but until i can i have to rely on good judgement and help from NS basicly haha

lol if you're going to rely on statements from the NS community, just go buy a set of full tilts online

that will teach you to never listen to the opinions of 16 year olds on the internet

well if i get 20 posts in this thread, the odds are one will be knowledgeable and will help me even when i cnt get to a boot fitter.

what size shoe are you in?what's the boot shell on your tecnicas?
if they line up, siz 10 to size 10 for example your boots are probably too big.
and shin bang is probably just you fucking up.
also, full tilts are this wide: -----kreations are this wide:----------

the two boots you are comparing are complete opposites. The definition of opposite. Spks are generally for a wider foot. And full tilts are for generally a narrower foot. And yes the majority of people on this site will suggest full tilt. todd wallnuts wears em duh!

your gay kthxbi. but shlogan, i have a wide foot and i just ordered my 2010 booters. the flex 4 is good for you id say. i weigh 120 so its good. but also, i tried on the 09 booters first to see how they would do on my foot, and width was not a problem for me at all. i have heard many people say bad things about the salomons so IMO id say go with the booters but its all personal preference.

i went to a boot fitter for my boots 2 years ago, they got me fischers. i got worse shin bang from them than i do from the techincas which i did not even try on before buying because i was out of town. i guess thats why i have kinda lost hope in buying another pair of fitted race boots (thatds all they have)i understand that leaning back will give me shin bang and that is part of the problem. i have had shin bang all summer just from my summer jib, which i really don't think should happen because no proper form is involved. both of my prior boots have been race boots with little padding, so I'm trying to look at freestyle boots that are meant to prevent shin bang.

I love my booters (which are for sale by the way). they are the most comfortable boot i have ever been in. super light, good flex, liner is really comfortable, and they are just great boots. i dont really know much about the kreation, but im pretty sure i will never buy any other brand of boot besides full tilts now. they just fit me so well

I was saying in General these boots are a narrower boot. You cant really compare the two. If the kid really wants a boot he shud get fitted. nuff said. Not get advice from some 12 year old kid on the internets kthxbi

that would solve everything wouldn't it? i really don't know, i never really have trouble fitting in things because it is to skinny, but i definitely do not have an abnormally narrow foot. well nike sb and osiris fit me well, which are both fairly wide. when it comes down to it, I'm basically just normal. i may just go for the booter in a bigger size.

thats what she said , and wherever your buying the used boots from ask the kid if you can try them on first unless hes on NS.

I have to say this before I begin: I highly suggest you try on both to make sure they fit and I boots are all made differently, in fact you've pick quite possibly the two most different boots. Full Tilts are very narrow and Salomon boots are very wide comparatively. Now, if you're set on these two, and you seem to have a problem with shin bang then I think you already know which one you want. Full Tilts are awesome IF they fit, it not then you're in for a world of pain, however the same holds true for Salomon boots. I have the booters and they are super light and very fun to ski in, but they fit my feet properly.
Also, Shin Bang has NOTHING to do with the type of boot you get, yes some boots can REDUCE shin bang (the booters especially because they have a very soft flex and the collar in the back of the boot is cut low), but it will not eliminate it. It's a common misunderstanding that you get shin bang by smashing your shins into the front of you boot (so people think that getting a soft tongued full tilt will help this) however, shin bang is actually caused by bend BACK your lower leg - so landing back seat and leaning back a lot will cause shin bang. That being said I have NEVER had shin bang with my full tilts - BUT I don't land backseat anymore either...does have that have to do with my boots or my skill - you decide.
SPARKNOTES: (if you're set on these two and don't want/can't try them on....) GET FULL TILTS!

I hate when people give this response. I'm pretty sure he was asking for opinions on what people like better and i am going to say booters. Because the 3 people i know who bought kreations had shinbangto the point where they couldn't walk and everybody i know with booters loves them.

i went through this same debate whether i wanted spk kreations of booters. the booters are rediculesly light. trust me i went to an authorized dealer and walked around in both different boots for like and hour each. the kreations are crazy wide, which is perfect for my fuckin elefant wide feet. the two buckle system in my opinion doesnt previde enough tightness to my feet, but i may have not got my buckels diled. the spk's are nice but the booters were a little bit better. both boots are of high initial quality and have their pros and cons. and btw im 5'9'' and 135 lbs, but price affected me so make your own desecion.

Look at your feet.

- Are your ankles and Achilles tendon slim and narrow? or thicker?

- Now look at the widest part of your foot. is it signifigantly wider than under your ankle? or fairly straight?

- Your arches? do you have flat feet? or a higher arch?

if you feel like your feet are fairly slim and straight, the full tilts are a better bet, but if your feet are more triangular, the SPKs will have alot more toe room. Also, if you have flat feet, the full tilts will KILL you (without a good footbed).

but really, both boots are totally different. your more likely to find the sallys more comfy out of the box, cause they fit like a shoe (and ride about like them). the FTs are a much more performance fit, and theres less room for a weird foot shape.

Any boot can be manipulated and made to fit well, but it will cost you, especially if your not buying the boot from whoever is doing the work. if your getting a sick deal of the FTs, and they sound like they'll fit, spend the extra $$ on some nice custom made footbeds, the best ones you can afford. they are worth every penny, even though its a pretty unexciting/lame way to spend money your lol.

As for shinbang and your technicas- Technicas blow. anyone who says elswise is either getting paid or thinks they are cool cause they are twice as much as every other boot out. (I dont particularly know if they have any full plug race boots that are better, but regardless) their consumer boots have absolutely ZERO resistance in the forward flex, and they just blow through and smack into a wall, resulting in killer shin bang. Also, as stated, usually its from leaning back, but those boots just suck so hard, your bound to get it regardless.

oh yeah, as someone else stated, for size. boots need to be small as possible to fit right. if your not sure what size you are, either get fitted, or print out a mondo point scale, and get the smallest size that your within.

do you have arch's or no arch's. because i have no arch and the spk have tons of room. just follow that rule. SPK's= generally wide feet overall. Bootlers= generally narrow feet. they do seem to have pressure points on me tho, but no persons feet are the same.

ps also follow this persons response above this one /\/\

oh that looks sick, its says i could buy both and return one for 10 extra. thier prices are really high though, i want to wait till they are on sale for that. i have an arched foot, its not too triangular and not too straight. so ya i think ill just order both and try them on, then send one back. im hoping the ft will fit, it sounds like a nicer boot.
