Look at your feet.
- Are your ankles and Achilles tendon slim and narrow? or thicker?
- Now look at the widest part of your foot. is it signifigantly wider than under your ankle? or fairly straight?
- Your arches? do you have flat feet? or a higher arch?
if you feel like your feet are fairly slim and straight, the full tilts are a better bet, but if your feet are more triangular, the SPKs will have alot more toe room. Also, if you have flat feet, the full tilts will KILL you (without a good footbed).
but really, both boots are totally different. your more likely to find the sallys more comfy out of the box, cause they fit like a shoe (and ride about like them). the FTs are a much more performance fit, and theres less room for a weird foot shape.
Any boot can be manipulated and made to fit well, but it will cost you, especially if your not buying the boot from whoever is doing the work. if your getting a sick deal of the FTs, and they sound like they'll fit, spend the extra $$ on some nice custom made footbeds, the best ones you can afford. they are worth every penny, even though its a pretty unexciting/lame way to spend money your lol.
As for shinbang and your technicas- Technicas blow. anyone who says elswise is either getting paid or thinks they are cool cause they are twice as much as every other boot out. (I dont particularly know if they have any full plug race boots that are better, but regardless) their consumer boots have absolutely ZERO resistance in the forward flex, and they just blow through and smack into a wall, resulting in killer shin bang. Also, as stated, usually its from leaning back, but those boots just suck so hard, your bound to get it regardless.
