Killington upgrade

so i heard on the news that the new owners of killy are upgrading everything. i geuss like 3 million dollars worth. sounds real nice.

but i bet there prices are gonna go sky high.
 
Prices probablt aren't gonna change. The company that bought Killington has plenty of money already so they can afford to make investments to improve the mountain.
 
as people have pointed out, prices are being jacked up. Their theory is fewer people who pay more money. One thing that's really gunna benefit the mountain though is their philosophy being that all money made by killington, stays in killington. They're giving them 3 million to do as they will. Most of that will be spent on the lodges seeing as most of them are in horrible shape and need to be redone. They're not gunna be cutting new trails or making new lifts or upgrading new lifts yet, but that will happen in the future. I just hope i can still get a pass for my mom working there...

i just hope the okemo/stratton pass doesnt get jacked up b/c everyone around them is going to be like double or triple the price then them
 
the prices suck, I'm not even sure it's worth it to buy this year with all of the christmas/new years blacked out and president weekend blacked too.
 
Yea what the fuck is this black out shit. If you pay the money for the seasons pass then you should be able to ski whenever the fuck you want, screw that i can't believe anyone buys that shit. Sorry i am in a bad mood and i think that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard
 
killington isn't even doing any real improvements, there going to wait for more customers before they will do any capital improvements according to the new owners
 
well there definatly not gonna get more customers by raising the prices and not doing any real improvements
 
$600 with 18 blackout days. Yikes. I remember when an All East pass was $365 with only a few blackout days. And, that was only four years ago.
 
and last year.... i paid 375 last year with like 12 blackouts... and the year before 360 with i think 8 blackouts. its getting worse, real quick
 
thers no more all east passes because POWDR doensnt own any other east coast mtns beside pico and killington
 
you guys are bitching at a seasons pass for a grand. windhams been over that mark for a few seasons and clearly not as big as killy. get used to it, this is were the industry is going, prices are going to be insane. solutions are to get invovled in the mtn and get a free pass
 
i hope that village project gets on its way soon. there will be cougars by the masses looking for good apres ski activites
 
POWDER like all other of there reosrts is going to keep killy as a alone standing reosrt. All the profit is going to go back into killy, ith ASC it was going alot of diffrent places. SP land witch PODWER is a subsitary of also has a bunch of capital so they will be makeing a bunch of new homes and the village. This is the best thing that has happened to killy in a long time, and in 5 years killy is going to be a good place. FUCK GMC

i dont think were gonna see many changes at killy... except prices, there might be improvements but i doubt they will be hardly noticeable
 
best part of powder buying killington, is probably the discounted passes at bachelor and pc for season pass holders. ha. powder corp is ok, they jack up prices, and attempt to make upgrades, but none that are ever worth it. what they are good about doing however, is still maintaining a somewhat local like vibe of ownership, and many of the decisions are oriented by the town. but overall there just ok. when bachelor was owned by the healys, and not some major corporation, things were much better. but maybe in killy things will work out for the best..
 
I have only been to PC so i havent seen many other resorts that POWDER has, but SP land and POWDER seam like they want to make Killy alot better. The new Pres of killy is chill to i hear, and they are coming into killy with a strong evnromental stance.

GMC blows becuse its 30k a year, and if your a hippy it will be fun. The resort mangement program is ok, but it still sucks fucking nuts. The lodge for the kids blows, no girls, and you are killys slave for a few years. However if you like to get high and drunk then its not a bad place. I feel like i wasted 3years of my life, so take it into consideration before you go.
 
Ha nice. You will see... I came into that program excited to ski a bunch and work at a kick ass resort. Find me a BUNCH of girls and have a great time. When I went in I didnt smoke, drink, never got in trubble and was a good kid. Then it turned out there are no girls, working from before the sun came up and getting out a few hours after it went down sucked ass. You only got to ski a few days a week, and there is shit to do when its dark at 5pm 0 degrees but sleep to do it agian. Chances are you will become a big pot head, and boarder line drunk when you get out.

And I dont understand how drinking and smoking would make me not like it. It was the shityness of the college that helped drive me to those things, and in the end made it bareble to be there. Also think about it I just graduated I know alot more about the program then you do. You must not have done "extensive reseach" becuse most of the kids I know in the program feel the same way. However im sure there is worse, but also alot better.
