They set the opening date as November 16th, which means as long as the temps are cold enough to blow snow, they will blow like crazy to get things open by the 16th.
oh and they usually have one or two nights of blowout, cleaning the lines making sure equipment works right and all that jazz. So ya, good luck all you easterners.
There will be a brief warmup the next few days which will set all the New England resorts back a little as far as snowmaking goes, but then it's back to cold nights at higher elevations, with even deeper cold looking to sneak south from northern canada sometime next week. I don't forsee any real issues unless the cold shot doesn't work it's way south.
thats awesome that hills out east have started blowing snow, were still having preseason jams here in the midwest, cant wait until the hills here start to blow snow!
cant wait till my mountain starts blowing snow(3-4weeks)... it say on the home page they can open the first main run overnight when temps are pretty good. Although, that isnt that impressive since my mountains vertical is less than 400ft.
