Killington bear park???

o man it's so good to hear that there's gonna be a good park up. When I was home back in Ohio skiing was awful but back at school and there's good parks and good mountains. I'm so pumped to hit this place up. But what are the sizes of different parks? is dream maker is biggest followed by bear?

dream maker is on bear, and as from what ive seen, thats where the biggest features and sickest lines are.

theres another park on bear, beartrap maybe, with jibs and hits that do not seem quite as big

then timberline on ramshead has the smallest flowy(sp) line with little jibs and jumps for your riding enjoyment

if you're talking about the pics in the photos section then 1 is the beginning of dreammaker and 5 is a jump line in timberline. they're small but I like them.

last jump dream maker 55' to sweet and first is 35' tripple line at botton is 35' 45' 55' and so smooth up box to down bar to wood copen qp so fun

So bear park was set up sick today. I was hittin the jump line all day and it was fantastic til i just didn't carry enough speed into the third kicker, nailed the knuckle after popping myself up pretty good. So I cart wheeled forward and managed to tuck my head enough to not break my neck but ended cracking my collar bone in two spots. it sucks i'm out for 6 weeks max. haha anyone see me crash?

nahh i was on libertys and ridin alone. but while i was in bears med center they called for a sled on bear trap, that coulda been it. they had a ton of shoulder injuries today.

out side everything seams small and i said sweet spot like 5-7 feet below knuckle and killington has those long flat section and slope on the back of there jumps makes them look shorter distance. but we mesure with 100foot tape

Anyone going this weekend or know what's open? more specifically are fiddle, devils den, and anarchy open?

they've been getting copious amounts of white in the last week so probably

has anyone, skiers that is, sessioned the red bull one hitter fitter legiter.

it seems kinda snowboarder only

Yea dude i was up there today, the whole mountain is open and the woods are a lot of fun, especially some of the lesser known ones. I took a couple of park laps, the jump line is a lot of fun, its a bit tough to get enough speed, but its cool because you can just flow from jump to jump. The pipe is soooooooooo narrow, but i had fun wiht it. Overall very good day

today was so nice. fresh snow all day, hucks on devils fiddle (small but still so much fun) powdery moguls on outer limits. just fun all day. there was a line on big dipper I was eying on saturday, then sunday after getting a ton of snow I was able to ski it. either way I'm really stoked cause today was so fun and probably the first time I've had a pow day at killington even if it wasn't a few feet. yeeeeeaaaaaaaaahhhhh. wooo. don't mind me. more later.

on big dipper is it that gnarly super steep tree ridden part on the far skiers left towards the bottom? If so that line smoked me so hard the other day haha

yes! haha, sweet you know what I'm talking about. I skied up to it saturday and peered over and I was like nooo way. then today I was all the way to the left again because no one had touched anything on that side and I skied up to it again, but this time it was covered and untracked so I went for it. when you hit it was it covered? it looks like it could hurt a looot if you fell on that thing.

today was awesome, after that I finally landed a 180 w/ a grab. not a lot to most ns'ers but I was stoked since I'm not a full on park rat.

haha well i was there on friday, so it wasnt untracked but it was pretty nice, decent coverage. I tried to jump turn down the first part, but i landed on the jump turn and kind of rolled over and slid down like 30 feet. Luckily i didnt hit any trees or anything. That line is actually legit though. There are rocks and trees and im pretty sure teh pitch is like 50 degrees for a tiny bit

that still sounds rough, definitely some trees to watch out for at the bottom. props for going for it with those conditions though. even on my first turn it was pretty much scraped clean.

Woods are only good parts of the mountain on pow days. Hidden trails in bear and snowdon. Echo woods, hershey highway so dope. only good trail is low rider and you have to stay to the far right.

I've heard the names of all these hidden trails at Killington, but I've never been to any. The only place I know is that cabin somewhere off the north ridge triple, but I've never visited. and if you go aaall the way to the right in squeeze play you can usually score some freshies so long as you watch the rivers and don't go too far. at least that I've discovered on my own.

yeah, haha that's the one. how far is it from the chair? I hear people get lost and end up on the road sometime later that night.. if they're lucky. yeah, squeeze play is pretty flat but it's so easy to just fly down and that makes it a lot of fun.

take a left off the top of north ridge triple and go straight into the woods. its all tracked out all the time so you wont get lost, but the cabin is about 200 yards or so down the trail, also there is a trail that leads out so you dont need to hike back up.

sweet man, thanks. I just might have to grab a topo map of the area and take a quick trip out. I'll also have to find more info. on other secret places around the mt.

you suck. haha, no I do understand completely about keeping it a secret. either way with a bit of effort and some time spent it's not difficult to find some information on various places around Killington.

If I can find some decent info on some in bounds trails around Killington I'll try and hit them up with a willing friend. only problem is they're not as into exploring as I am. It's tough when your friends aren't obsessed with skiing haha. I'll at least pick up a topo map of the area as I've seen a few and looked around on google earth and there are definitely ravines and such that aren't shown on the trail map that could be a trap that we'd have to hike out of. either way one of these days I'll explore the backside with the proper equipment and planning. some day..

word, TWA has been really helpful to me, and I'm sure others too, about all the stuff going on at Killington.

thanks yeah, that's the reason I'm not heading up this weekend. next weekend I'll be up though, hopefully not as crowded.

sweet, I'll probably stop by to check it out. I do like skiing park, I'm just not great at it. I'm getting better this season though. hopefully at this point if I spend some time at it I'll get a lot better. yeah, it's my sisters birthday weekend which equals her bringing too many friends, most of which have never been skiing before. gonna be fun..

who is your park crew buddy? and there is plently more stuff the one box. logs, rolls, wall ride, 55gal tanks aka golden dipstick, big flat down toe slider box the one you saw from the bottom was the other half the redbull box. also new for tomorrow 2/17/08 sunday hip/drop kinda thingy were the dfd box was at beining of yr. and the jump next to the pipe is 55' . deck of landing is taller the the pipe.

You obvisily dident read my post completely what i said was... what you saw form the bottom was.. and just calm down, i wasent questioning what you know simply just asking who your friend on park crew was,and you said you know the manager, Rosey? But your acting like your the only one who knows whats going on up there. My post was just letting people know about a big jump on grizzly and the other stuff we put in, but when you say

"by big you mean about 35'..yeah not that big"

Obviously going to take a little offense to this. Everybody on here questions the size of jumps but never thinks when your just skiing down the trail and jump in the air you can travel at least 25 to 30 feet no problem. everything seems small outside. One foot is really not that long at all. A 50' jump doesn't seem all that big and really isn't. And we have that huge flat top and bank on the back of the take offs which makes the decks look even smaller Sorry for getting mad, but at least go on the hill and look at what i'm talking about before making a comment like that.

ya the jump next to the pipe for me was alittle sketch cuase its was so hard to judge speed goin into it.. pluss with the wind.... but tons of kids throw down on that shit. the parks soo nice... just got to get it to soften up a bit

The park was really sweet today- Soft but the lips were so nice- but was hard to judge the speed on the jump next to the pipe....

kinda empty in here. TWA, are you still posting in this thread or are you actually done? that'd suck man.

anyway, I was up last weekend and I tried to hit that log jib.. I [stupidly] assumed it was waxed or something so I tried to slide it sideways, caught a bad edge and ate shit. any tips on that one haha? also met a guy at the top of anarchy and decided to ski it with him so neither of us would have to go alone and risk getting hurt with no one there etc. I doubt he posts here, maybe tgr or kzone or not at all haha. fiddle was getting bare, but still tons of fun. timberline park landings where icy as anything too.
