yes true. ^ he is right. killington, and other mnts all did this last year and usually will announce a predicted closing day, but like i said, it can deff change.

announcing a closure date sets a tone, a negative one for a place that used to pride itself on first and last chair on the east coast. By looking at ticket sales internally, you can gauge when an appropriate date to shut down for the season would be with out setting into motion a bunch of neigh sayers and negativity.

I'm sure the management at K has weighed the pros and cons to their decisions regarding opening and closing dates. They have decided that it is financially unwise to remain open past the date that they have set. And last year they did extend skiing a week past their original target date. So it is not a completely set in stone date.
