meh, when i first moved to fernie...it started to snow one day, and didn't stop for like 2 weeks. I began to live by the 20cm rule. Less then 20, i'd go to the hill at noon, and sesh the soft park, more then 20, i'd ride the mountain at first chair and ride until all my favourite spots were tracked, then hit the park if i felt like it. Once the avy situation is stable, i'd hit the backcountry for a day or 2. You definitly don't take it for granted. When there's 30cms or more on the ground, there aren't many locals, if anyone in the park. Though i've actually heard people complain that there was TOO much snow on a couple days, definitly not locals though.
Anyways, i had to suffer through 15 years of skiing on a shitty ontario mound that hand no snowmaking, grooming or terrain park. If it bothers you as much as it bothered me that other people had the shit in the west, move west asap. Life is better there.
