Kids hating on being "thug"

I've noticed an influx of kids coming on NS and tearing apart some of the most legit skier's out there for wearing tall tees and acting thug.

First Off, There not really acting thug. There acting like there having fun. They like rap music, that doesnt make them thug. I like phish, and I dont have dreads and wear tye dye all the time. But back to them, theres a rap culture that anyone can subscribe to no matter what color your skin or where you from.

I see kids trying to act cool trying to hate on Henrik, Tom Etc saying there fake and shit, well first off they slay harder than you ever will. Which makes them pretty damn legit in my book, sure they like wearing big tees and adding a little dance to there style. I dont know how thats THUG though thats there style.

Also, we are skiers and we are all shaping our sport, and last I checked our sport is called Freeskiing, FREE being the keyword there. You know what these guys have in commmon with Rappers and nasty guys from the hood. They got style man. When there on skis there showing style and flow, just like some guy on a street corner throwing down rhymes with style and flow. So I say go ahead and wear tall tees and do what ya gotta do. These guys are for real, sure we might be far from the hood, although its not as far as you'd think.

So I'd have to say in conclusion, I'm pretty sick of kids acting like stuck up white rich kids ( oh wait ) and let these VERY Good Skilled Skiers do there thing.

if you dont like it look away, but none of you have the skill to back yourselves up, so dont call them up. I'm sick of reading this shit.

hey i wear baggy pants and what not .. doesnt mean i listen to rap .... i just think it looks cool and we should all jst chill on the moauntain doesnt matter what u look like till ur in the air
 
its just an opinion. I personally am not a big fan of the tall t's and shit, but if you can do whatever you want.
but I dont think they are necessarily being "stuck up white rich kids" It seems to me that more people that are from the suburbs that wear tall t's. I am from a city, and I see the "thugs, gangsters" whatever you want to call them on the street. Its just not something I look up to, and a style that I want to copy.

But ya if you feel comfortable in a tall t, go ahead, you can wear whatever the fuck you want. Its just I bet most of the kids would not dress and act like that when they are in the city, or walking by the guys hanging out in the corner......but maybe I am wrong. Do what you want, and who cares what other people think
 
Also, when a pointless thread comes up and people post useless posts like "Its a waste of my time" and "you wasted 30 sec of my life", well you were the one who took the time to post that useless shit. If you had just held it in, then you could have already exited out of that thread. So end the HATE, its pointless. /
 
hmm I'll have to disagree it's not because you dress with tall tee's on the hill that you think you are a gangster and can hang out with the gettho guys and shit. It's just a style and 90% of the kids just wear that while they ski because they like the style when they are skiing.
 
yeah, why all the hate? probally because ppl are jealous.

i know im a little jealous, i have no style. i wish i had style like that. (or anywhere close)

and the little dances and crap, it makes me feel real stupid, but its fun for them and adds to their enjoyment of the sport. stop bitchin, if you dont like it oh well, its not like your forced to do the same as them.
 
Thats what I am saying. They dress in tall t's in stuff on the hill, but would probably not on the street. Its a style that they took from the street, but only wear on the ski hill.
 
haha, its the opposite for me, its a style i wear in the streets but when i tried taken it to the mtn it failed somehow.

Didn't know there were people hatin on skiing Tom and Henrik there so good, in my opinion baggier clothes looks better. But w/e were all skiers out to have fun with different styles and influences.

First off, declaring everyone a kid makes you sound like a tool.

They arent acting thug? You are trying to deny that how you dress isnt a part of how you come across to people? If I go to a job interview and I dress in serious clothes am I not trying to act serious? Oh wait, according to you they are dressing like they are having fun, thats all fine, if they want to dress up on the hill so they can have more fun thats great, but that doesnt make them any different than some guy in a santa costume on the hill. He kind of looks like a goof, it isnt very practical or useful, but hes doing it for fun. Dont get it wrong, people arent hating on them for dressing up for fun, theyre hating because they think it makes them look like idiots.

Since when is hating on a popular style the cool thing to do, it obviously isnt considered cool on NS, im going to get shitstormed by thug skittles in 3 seconds after I post this. Nobody is calling them bad skiers, but ability has nothing to do with how I perceive their apparent need for a style

this may be true for local kids at your hill. But Tom and Henrik, and most of the dudes out there who are on the verge of becoming pro are some of the nicest kids out there. I havent really found an atitude problem with any of the kids who are being called out.

-im pretty sure tom and henrik dont have any type of attitude problems and are nice dudes just tryina have fun but there are definitely a few wanksters at every mtn that have bad attitudes in general and blow at skiing that really piss alot of people off and add to the stereotype that all baggy clothes wearing kids do it cause they want to be thugs.....patagonia for life haha
 
Wow this is really pissing me off.. first off. you cant be thug and be a white kid from some out west town. it just doesn't happen. Here is the definition of a thug straight form google definitons " an aggressive and violent young criminal " Yes, i said it, skiing doesn't make you a thug in any way, the only way you can become a thug is being in a gang, stealing, murdering and bad shit like that. you can dress thug, but you cant be thug got it? and if you truely think your thug because you freestyle ski then you got problems and people will look at you like an idiot. /rant
 
I wear baggy clothes when I ski. For one, I like the way it looks. And two, it hides body movement, who doesn't want to make a trick look better by wearing some big clothes haha.

Meh, wear what you want, don't worry about what other people think, and don't worry about what other people are wearing.
 
I ski for fun not for an image. I sag my pants and listen to rap b/c its who I am. I am white from a middle class family. If no one from those two catagories bought rap cd's or clothing the industry would be half the size it is today.
 
exactly i wear tall tees and bandanas when i ski but im not going around wearing that stuff off the mountain i just wear it on the mountain so that i can have stylebut all u people who dis on tom w and henrik u need to stop cuz im pretty sure you dont have the skills to back up wht ur saying about them
 
despite all the like, anonymous call outs, I don't think I've seen someone call out Tom or Henrik was dressing like the thug. Other skiers, sure, but those guys, noo, so I don't think "needing the skills to back it up" is necessary.

yea I am going to have to agree. Skiing is not thug, clothing style may be influence by it but the act itself is not.
