Im partial to agree with this guy, although I am generally a supporter of no hate, and generally fall into the tyedye wearing hippy described in the original thread.
My first problem with tall ts and any other part of steeze that is simply over the line is that although it may be "in" at the time, it is not functional. If something isn't functional, then you must be trying pretty hard to impress somebody by wearing it. And i'm not gonna specify which styles are the worst, cause some have purposes, but nonetheless, you then start falling into the same category as high school girls. Whom I do have the same problem with generally; they care way too much what they're wearing, functionality and sometimes even actual appearance aside. That is my first problem.
Second has nothing to do with actual style but attitude. Someone above mentioned a correlation between clothing size and attitude. And, though I'm not a fan of stereotypes, I definitely can see this generalization at least some of the time. Which is where my second problem comes in, I cannot stand kids who honestly do think that they are "thug." They're not just wearing big clothes and bandanas, they act hard, say the n word lots, start shit with random people, etc. Cannot stand that. And those kids, wearing the same clothes as a lot of the rest of you, then spread that stereotype. And you can hate on that all you want, but everyone of you, especially the kids still in high school have sterotyped people on a regular basis for a long time.
As for Wallisch and Harlaut and them, i have heard good things about their attitude, but there are other skiers who I've heard quite the opposite about. They all shred, but if you dont have a good attitude, I dont care how good you are, you're still a tool.
Finally, I would like to point out that skiing in all liklihood looks ridiculous to anyone who is not in the scene. What are these kids trying to bring back the 80s? Outrageously bright colors, onepieces, etc.
So, my final point is that we all look ridiculous.
Much love.-ben
