Gone from Armada? I searchabarred and couldn't find anything. I heard it from Dano today when I spoke with him, but he said it hadn't been "officially announced". Then, I checked Armada's website, and he was gone.
Anybody know who he went to? Why he left?
 
maybe he retired from professional skiing? he's been around the sport for quite some time now.
 
If you do a google search for Julien you will find an Armada site very similar to the current one with the addition of him as a team rider...
I would say he is probably contemplating taking a step back or he has found something new?Or even the new sit isn't completed, i would doubt this however...
What ever happens all the best to Julien he is an amazing skier and has inspired many!
 
i'll be honest and say that i never enjoyed watching his skiing

but i can respect that he helped get armada started
 
His and JP's pro model ski with them is one of the best pow/all mountain skis out there right now. So it's not like he's slowing down with the design aspect. I bet he's just stopping the pro skiing part of his work with them. If he left then that would be a crazy situation and I'd want to know why though for sure.
 
Julien is a legend, go watch his stuff from propaganda, happy dayz, 1242. I still enjoy watching his skiing, its not forced and its just solid ski form. Him and JP were the first really creative skiers of the newschool movement. Watch his segment from propaganda from like 8-9 years ago, switch backcountry hits, switch onto rails, huge backcountry jumps. Not many doing this 8 or 9 years ago.

Agree to disagree? Julien is one of my favorite riders ever. If you look at his older seggies (supershow,the game, propaganda etc.) his style was way smoother and cleaner than most peeps at the time. Plus he was always doing original shit. First skier I ever saw butter or do the double japan grab/japan critical thingy. Mad respect Julien, whatever you're up to.

actually i do agree w/ this. his older stuff was real ill and way ahead of the game. pretty much his ski porn/yea dude stuff seemed to taper off. so i retract my previous statement.
 
They did exactly the same thing with TJ Schiller last year - they posted a video of him (Trick Tip) then released the new site without him in the Pro team profiles. No doubt Julien has stepped away from Pro Skiing with Armada although he still gets a mention with the JJ's.

Not that I really know but I don't remember hearing about him in any comps or segments last year...
 
He didnt do cold rush but he still films with PBP. I love his segments because it is exactly what I like in my skiing. Pow and mini golg lines.

I was just about to start a thread... I am also very curious as to where Julien has gone. I am sure he just retired from pro skiing, but there was no official statement or article in the news section of the new armada site.

julien has one of the best styles in the game he is SOO og.. he made finals at the nagano olympics, and threw a 360 mute.. even before J MO..

his Cab 9 of that huge famous step down in the whistler BC was SOO SICK..

so were his parts in soo many movies.. I heart Julien!
 
seems kinda ridiculous to me that armada would just terminate julien's contract with no consultation. in fact, if i'm not much mistaken he has a share in armada no? you can't just fire someone who has a share of the business. very odd indeed this.

i'd be absolutely amazed if julien doesn't join coreUPT. seems like a perfect fit. good luck man, you deserve it for all you've done for our industry.
 
that's very strange. Hopefully Julien didn't get fired from Armada.
^ agreed. I don't think anymore riders need be absorbed into the monster that is coreupt until the company can prove that they're actually worth it and not just a wannabe ski company with lots of financial backing.
 
that is extremely strange, they could have just stepped down his sponsorship or something like that, he's still a pretty big name compared to a lot of the people armada sponsors...i wish him good luck
 
julien regnier is a fucking legend and armada is foolish for not extending him a contract until he's ready to call it quits.

Some of the people I start the company with told me they will not renew

my contract. I had nothing to say and no way to defend my case. The

weird thing is that they did not try to talk about and see if we could

find a way to work something out, they just told me that it was over,

just like if I was skiing for salomon or K2... I shaped most of the

skis for that company beside my riding and the original impulse to make

it happen... It's kinnda rough I guess they are ways to talk to people

you start a company with, or so I though.

I'm currently looking for a ski sponsor.

This is completely ridiculous... He is a household name and has been throwing down since the beginning. Julien deserves all the support he can get. Good luck with finding a sponsor and with all your future endeavours.

 
Wow, this is definitely a surprise. I wonder why they just let him go like that, being that he is one of the co founders of Armada in the first place and that he co designed one of the best resort friendly pow skis to date. Makes you wonder who runs Armada these days. Is it still the riders?
 
if this shit is true it's fucking bullshit and whoever is running armada is a complete bitch, julien is the shit and has been throwing down hard since before most of you motherfuckers were born so please do not talk shit, not to mention the only time i met him he was cool as fuck and down to earth, but this is serious bullshit and whoever is running armada needs to feel some serious heat for this, i think all NSers should boycott buying from bitchasses that claim all that shit about riders controlling the company and then firing a legend who helped build the company into what it is today, this just shows armada is seriously full of shit and i wont ever buy their shit again
 
Armada is fucking stupid now days. I would seriously rather buy a quality ski like rossignol, or support a real underground brand.
They always do stupid moves with their team, this being one of them. I remember TJ was on their AM team for like 4 years, they also currently have way to small of a team especially their AM team which is one guy (jacob wester maybe). Whoever it is they should be pro team as well.
 
Ok I guess their pro team has jacob on it now.
what are they gonna do when they kick off anthony boronowski, I mean he is about as popular as Julien.
I will buy skis from whatever company singes Julien just as my own little fuck you to armada
