Joystick Poles - Yay or Nay

Who's got them? How do you like them? Do they take a beating? Are they light? How comfortable do/did you find the grips? How well does the strap system on the dual density grip function? Are they worth the money? Do the baskets break easily?

Before you reply;

I know it's a good call to support Joystick/Boronowski

I know I should go get some shitty poles for $15 or steal rental poles, but I don't want to.

Thanks

My original spicolli's are the shit. I broke a grip one time, but just yanked it off and put another on there. I know people who have broken them.. not too many though.

I'd have to say the new sauce pole is SICK. Like $60.. full length graphic, nice grips, and the armada style basket system. Can't go wrong there.

I have the original spicolli and the SAC carbon ones. That original spicolli is amazing, I love the graphic, and the grip is sweet. The carbon has the same grip, is a little lighter, much stronger and has a kickass interchangable basket system (probably the same as the armada one). I did bend the original joysticks a little (the reason I got the carbons) but they took a good beating before that happened.

ya i just picked up a pair of aluminum ones on the super cheap...they're pretty cool but definitely go for carbon, these are gonna snap in half before the season is through

Mine are from the first season the spicolli came out and I'm still using them. On has an almost unnoticeable bend in it. That is the sum of damage to them. I used to go through 1-2 pairs of poles per year. Do the math. Joysticks kill it.

I think the "skeletor" ones are cool looking.  But the ones I found in lost and found work just fine.

I had last years spicollis and they bent on the second day. I may end up going to with the stronger aluminum and getting the sauces for this year

I have original Spocilli or whatever, they have lasted me through 2 or 3 seasons... can't remember but despite what people say they are solid as fuck and have withstood a few encounters with being pressed between the lift and the lift landing because I was sleeping...

I don't know too many poles that will hold up a side-ways landing cliff bail. I've seen carbon ones snap, shard, and impale someones leg the same way.

In all seriousness I've broken approximately 10 poles in the past year. So I certainly would never buy any sort of pole that cost more than like 20 bucks.

Oh yes, most definitely. I would not have expected any pole to hold up to a bail like I had. Mine broke fast, but my expierience was altered. Speaking of it, anyone want to buy ONE Joystick spicorilli or whatever with a custom powder basket?

How do you break so many poles? What are you actually doing when they break? The worst I've ever done is put some major bends in Master Series 1 poles...

they dont seem different then any other pole... i mean some are lighter and heavier or whatever but poles are just poles...

I just fall on them. And joytick/armada/anypole are all of the same relative, shitty strength. All poles, no matter how expensive or whatever will break. I've broken $80 composites, $60 Aluminium, Scotts, Smiths, Rosignols, Salomon, everything. I seriously couldn't run you through ever pair last season, cause some I just can't remember. One pair I broke on this shitty little jump outside my dorm when I landed like 450 on it. I broke some really nice composite smiths on the first day I had them on the S- raill at Keystone. One pair got caught on a tree as I was going by it at jay, and snaped in half. I could go on forever. Sometimes I get a lucky pair and they last a good amount of time. I had a pair that I got in March and they lasted until about 4 weeks ago. I only rock kid size poles now though, so hopefully that shit won't be getting in my way/broken as much anymore.

i just picked up the spicolli joysticks and they are sick.. the grips nice and they are pretty light.. i cant wait to get them out this weekend

I saw mine for like 45% off, so I had to get them. Broke a basket got one from a store for like$2 and just popped that on there.

As are Joystick. I'd rather give my money to Anthony and Joystick for a similar, strong product that another random company. Not taking anything from Scott, they do well, make good stuff, and seem run correctly. But why buy that stuff when I get the same service, quality, and sometimes lower price from Joystick?

That is just me, and the age old argument about Joystick.

exactly why pay tons for a pole when you get bascially the same pole just different graphics for a way lower price and Anthony seems to pushing his company in a good direction so why not support him thats how armada got big

picking up skeltors on monday gonna be sick

good point. joysticks were never around anyshops where im from and they were super expensive. im not going to pay a hundo for poles ha, i got scotts for free just throwin out some props. my roomie rocks joysticks he doesn't complain.

Why would anyone spend a lot of money on poles? Anything over the ski swap for $19.99 is overpriced...

yeah...not too much fun in the sketchy lines.

I think I'm going to go rock some joysticks not this year but next. I have my own pair of scott poles that have lasted me about a whole year finally.

i would say yay, but im not going to cuz joysticks are played as shit!!!

everyone has em

i steal rentals and put my own paint job on em so i have sick poles that nobody else has...

who really cares anyway....they break, im down 5 bucks

spicoliis break, your down 60 bucks

do the math....

ok whatever...

they are tho

pretty much every pro in every recent ski movie has them...

theyr good poles, dont get me wrong but i hate havin the same shit as everybody else and i hate payin out the ass for little pieces of metal to hold in your hands....

why not just steal/buy rentals for 5 bucks and paint em your self....

"Pro" athletes tend to have Scott, Armada, Salomon, or Joystick

poles. Number of "pro" athletes divided by 4 = lots of repetition.

As I said before I don't want $5 poles.

You ride Line Chronics? Wow, I don't know anyone else that has those...
