from a J lindeburg press release as 2005 winter collection is launched at Harrods in London:

“Skiing is as much a natural extension of the J. Lindeberg lifestyle as is golf” says Johan Lindeberg, who lived and skied in the French Alps during his youth. “I want to achieve the same thing with ski as with golf, using the values of classic sports while adding a new modern dimension. Jon is amazing. He has great taste, he is a true 21st Century pioneer, and this is why we like him. He is the perfect role model to co-create a new modern movement in ski apparel. Jon has been very involved in the collection from the start, ensuring that the design and the technical features reflect the needs of the modern skier”.

"The J.Lindeberg Future Sports Ski collection features high performance ski wear in innovative designs and bold colors. Icon pieces of the collection are white leather ski jackets and turquoise rabbit fur and nappa ski jackets, but it also includes amazing technical parkas, ski pants and down jackets."

I really wish he was still on Oakley. That J.Lindberg stuff is fun and all, but the whole designer thing in ski outerwear was supposedly reserved for clueless tourists lost at Vail.

well yeah thats the point, it is some high class european elite stuff, what the f*!k has that got to do with normal jibbers - white leather, that is only for idiot rich folk who can't ski. sad for him, he gets money, but has lost all cred with skiers everywhere.

Jon is a good skier, let him cash cheques thrown his way. But J Lindeburg this is a big mistake, that type of clothing will never go anywhere - you see in 2 years it will still only be on sale at Harrods. Hope he didnt sign up for too many share options instead of taking cash...

its nothing close to a mistake. J.Lindeberg isn't marketing to us. they are marketing to people that would be buying Prada or Dolce or whatever, but they are trying to use Jon as a bridge to gap freeskiing and designer shit.

longboardskater

dont kid yourself. he wants to do to ski what he did to golf, that means being a quicksilver, that means in the end guys like us buying the stuff otherwise he would have got a skiracer as his front man not a jibber. it wont work, everyone thinks business is a formula and all you have to do is repeat the steps that worked before.

jon is sick but j. lindeburg reminds me too much of like zoolanderish fashion in a way.

have you seen the mock ad in skeeze? its funny

exactly lindberg is marketing its self to a group with a lot more money than we do, because Jon wants to do something different makes him stupid? maybe it reflects his style maybe he is doing something that he wants to do and doesn't care what some kid says, sure its not my stlye maybe if i had tons of money to spend on clothles and was from europe i would be into it but don't hate on the guy for doing something a little different

honestly, Jon is my favorite freeskier. He is extremely unique, and while I would never buy a J. Lindenberg ski suit, give him some credit for not being the same run of the mill freeskier. Sooo many freeskiers today are just boring, baggy oakley stuff that is not creative at all. I personally don't want freeskiers to be cookie cutter boring all the same types of people. Jon is doing something drastically different from everybody, and most importantly is expressing himself, and I greatly respect him for that.

hey I give mad respect to JOn for being unique. its a breath of fresh air from the overly played gangster image in skiing

be serious! he is not expressing himself, it is the reverse, he is wearing something he is not comfortable for money. Well good luck to him. And I agree baggy, oakley is soooooo faded, but J lindeburg is bland and boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring, boring!

It seems to me that J.L is way more expensive in North America than in Sweden. I paid less than 500 dollars for a full suit.

he is so fine....and one of the best skiers to boot...

not hating or anything but a hell of a lot of newbs have posted in here

i think its cool that he does what he wants, just I would never personally buy any JL stuff.

You have to remeber that people from Europe are completly differnt than us. They all think we look like a bunch of baggy clothes wearing hacks, that need a hair cut (or layered and highlighted) They want to portray a self image of being manicured and sophisticated, as opposed to our gangstas and hippies. Mark this post in the next few years we will see alot more (manicured) freeskiers... mostly cuase guys like Jon get anychick they want, not only cuase they rip and skiing.

Lindeberg isn't even a hot designer anymore. I've got got å friend who's into to expensive designers an stuff, and he tells me J. LIndeberg isn't really popular at all no more because they produced to much and sold their product to cheap. J. Lindeberg is so last year! ;)

i hope your kidding me, there is the same type of people over there as there is here, its just more fashionable people are clean cut here and there

my frieind told me skiing isnt cool anymore, neither is track and field nor college. So im gonna stop doing all the things i really love

you might know more about overseas, but they did like a whole article in some ski magazine *forget the name but it was a big one* about how jon at the invatational was getting all the madd hos and the USA guys were just standing around. and then it went in to detail just like that guy said about how they like to look more like well what jon looks like, and how the chicks werent diggin the USA dudes.

You know what... I'm swedish, and I'm not really like that.

Sure, I probably care more about how I present myself than most american kids.

I don't wear strictly oversized skateboard clothing.

Girls like guys who look good, simple as that.

Seriously i think theyre clothes look ok, i wouldnt wear them to be honest, but still i respect people that do.

I think that skiers look like shit most of the time off the hill and i would much much rather wear JL`s ordinary clothes then Oakleys.

But maybe thats because im from sweden and we have another culture then you have in NA when it comes to fashion.

And JL`s doing what he wants and thats pretty brave both of jon and johan to try to make JL a "newschoolish" brand, specially when the trend are that try to look like a thug when your skiing, witch doesnt really addup.

i think jon is doing nothing differently than anyone else in the ski industry. look at tanner, or tj schiller, they always have outfits that might not strike us as outrageous, but are always at the front line of whats out now, fashion wise. jon is making a statement just as much as tanner is.

no offence, but that is so much sucking-up-to-jon-jibberish. I hate it when everytime there's a thread about something there's allways a mr. angel trying to say "maybe he doesn't care" or "shut up if your not as good as him". not to be the bashing kind of guy here, but I really can't help it. Isn't it pretty fundamental that jon don't care? like, why even write that? and as far as the whole word-shitting with "expressing himself" and "being creative" - just lay it of mr. fab-five.

Just see it for what it is. You should be the one that respect other people for having oppinions about his apparel.

and lastly, what is wearing oakley-stuff has to do with creativeness? is a person unable to do a blindside switch-up with the wrong clothing wereas with a j.lindeberg outfit it's just like a whip with the wand and you're suddenly able to to every trick in the book?
