Jon Brogan Appreciation Thread

Jon brogans spends more time just skiing like delrome. He is not spending his entire season filming, he is just out their shredding.

Wanker... he will be forgotton about in the ski industry within 2 years, other than dorks on NS will keep reminiscing about him on here for a while.
 
To everyone saying he's a dick...I lived with him for a month and I'll vouch for him being a nice guy. People have their moments, you can't judge the dude off one chance meeting. Keep on doing your thing Brogan, haters gonna hate.
 
regardless of whether or not he can double, he can't spin left, ever. I think I have seen one left nose 3 from him, and that's it. His style is dope, but I do wish he would progress a bit more.
 
i dont want to come off as a douche, but brogan can definately spin left. just because you dont see it here on newschoolers doesnt mean he can do it.
 
You don't sound douchey at all haha. That's the one thing I wish I saw him do more in edits, though, unnatural spins.
 
dude watch the refresh edit. its full of shots filmed by level 1 that didn't make the movie. watching that i think more of his shots deserved to be in it. also hes only like 18 or something like that he still has time.

How about instead of trying to knock down other skiers to "prove" your love of Brogan, you just use more examples to show why he's legit. I hate seeing things like the LJ hate, dampers vibes on the positive community, and makes you a hater too.

Brogan is dope in his own way, as is every other skier out there.
 
That would be sick. Level 1 is all about style and Brogan really fits right in. Just pair him up with Hornbeck or someone and give them a song
 
My coach at windells was on level 1 and he told me that brogan is dope at skiing he just gets really down on himself when hes filming and thats why he doesnt get a whole lot of shots. He also said his family is loaded so he could care less about the money.
 
brogan is sooo ill... he has such a sick style... and he rides away so smooth. i want his style so bad... and i dont care that he doest do huge tricks. i think that when u make a simple trick look amazing. thats its better than a complicated one.
 
agree, i don't hate him, i just can't find this guy like "super" steezy like everyone else.
and to you who say he doesnt do doubles.... have you even seen brogan do a single flip or invert?
 
exactly what I was trying to say, you guys hooked him up with a career and got his name out there, but he gets 2-3 shots per movie. I just personally think he's worth more than that just from his extra feature edits.
 
he wont do straight up front/back flips. but i have seen brogan pull some of the most unreal corks ever

To all those whining about he hasn't progressed enough, can't dub, isn't tech enough, can't spin left......so the fuck what?
Why are there expectations placed on him to be even a little bit better than he is right this second? Newsflash: Not every kid with skis on their feet gets off the chairlift and plans his slope run or says, "today I'm getting that fucking left cork 9 with a blunt". Maybe he doesn't have ambitions of being some fucking ski jock—fine by me, because the vast majority of people with that approach or outlook are cocky arrogant dicks who if they weren't in tall tees and skiing, would be "progressing" in football, or basketball or whatever.
Whether you like his style, his bag of tricks blahblah, fall the fuck back and jump off his dick. Say what you want, the kid is always grinning ear to ear and obviously loooooves to ski. He gets a pass in my book, for that alone.
What's he need a left sw 10 for? So he can win all those comps he enters? Oh wait....
I never resort to the idiotic argument of "If you're not as good as so and so, you can't say anything vaguely negative about so and so", but it fits here. Jon Brogan doesn't have a videoblog series, he doesn't film every second he spends on snow, and he sure as fuck doesn't tweet or twit or whatever the fuck it is what tricks he will or has tried. In other words, Brogan is more like YOU.
The kid has filmed (released) what....10-12 minutes of footage, and a superunknown edit? I think people are still sore that he won, and hasn't gone on to become a huge part of the level 1 program. Get over it. Plus, he hasn't had a single season where he's lived out west all year and really committed himself to skiing as a "career". If you're a fan, be pumped on what he DOES do, not let down by what he doesn't. If you aren't feeling his skiing, sweet, watch who you like.
